  • Nevermind that there are several human rights groups, news organizations, medical responders, international aid etc. that would like to be in Gaza but are being denied entry. This reeks of sending people protesting terrible conditions to suffer in those conditions.

  • Your honor, my client would like to plead "Oopsie Doopsie".

  • I definitely make spelling errors sometimes, but that's a common spelling in Canada where I'm from.

  • Doh. You are correct. Edited.

  • Just waking up, and you made me smile :) Thanks for being friendly stranger.

  • For a moment I thought it was Columbia University and was a little shocked by the reversal. After correcting myself: it's good to hear another nation is drawing some lines in the sand regarding behavior. Rules of war should mean something.

  • I've talked once or twice about Reddit being negative and being happier here on Lemmy. Part of the reason I like Lemmy is it's a smaller userbase, which means fewer vocally negative people to drag things down. I also feel like the conversations are more "genuine" in that I feel like I'm talking to single people as opposed to crowds.

Speaking of crowds, I did very well on Reddit in terms of karma but to me it always felt like a dogpile - if my post/comment got those first 5 upvotes it would keep on doing well. If it dropped into negatives it was basically a lost attempt and the thread would fill with insults/criticism. Here there's seems to be less "inertia" and more chance to win people on merit. I've had people respond aggressively, but rarely and not actually cruel. I've only been here for about 2 months, but so far that's my take.

  • Deal. Hold me until dawn?

  • I'm not blaming the staff for doing what they can - they're trying their hardest to make the best of a bad situation. But medical procedures are best performed by professionals who are rested and calm, not working overtime/triaging under stress because they're trying to handle as many patients as possible before the door closes. And yes, the ban that sets the stage for this whole situation is a train wreck. The policymakers have created an unnecessary emergency among other criticisms.

  • I love it when my medical procedures are done on a schedule of "squeeze as many in as possible". What a train wreck.

  • His sciatica is most illogical.

  • The convo I got the template from said “Uma musume pretty derby”. Just a disclaimer, I have no clue if that’s true as I rarely watch anime.

  • I had to look twice.

  • Super interesting, and thanks for the sources :)

  • I hear some countries in Asia are CRAZY bad for these kind of expectations and have been for a long time.

  • Source is Oglaf.com, an adult webcomic equal parts humor and smut.

  • I'm really hoping that's an Office Space reference.

  • That's an unexpectedly poetic and melancholic way of portraying some lamentable decisions.
