Florida already seems to have a bit of a problem with child population. Public School enrollment has been declining in my country county and the surrounding countries counties for the last few years.
Yes, a capable politician is going to choose the hardest path to advance his career by claiming to be gay. Like playing US politics on super hard mode.
Sent this to my SO because she definitely relates. Funny thing is I feel the same way if I don't know where I am, but anytime I am going somewhere new I pull up the location on satellite view and find all the parking areas.
Wish I lived somewhere with viable public transit. I hate driving.
I will not say that you are wrong, just encourage you to take a deeper look into your congressional rep and below in the midterms. People are pissed, it might not turn to votes but maybe things will shift. Hell, talk to people in your community who might be willing to vote with you on a third party.
I say this with no disrespect intended. With the electoral and first past the post system, voting 3rd party at the national level is like spitting into the ocean. No one will notice, and maybe that vote could have made a difference elsewhere. It sucks but until we eliminate the electoral and have RCV or STAR voting, we cannot support 3rd party candidates.
All that being said, I do think that it is worth voting 3rd party for lower office or if your vote really wouldn't affect the outcome.
200M spent on alligator Auschwitz and an estimated 450M annual operating cost.
Some googling tells me that an apartment building can cost about 200k/unit (I suspect it could be less). That's 1000 units. And then imagine what would happen if you put that yearly operating cost into healthcare and other social programs.
They want to build 1000 concentration camps. Florida is working on their second. Texas has one. Other states will certainly follow.
Maybe Newsom should be building homes instead of division.
We haven't even entered midterm season yet and we're arguing about Newsom's viability. The focus should be on midterms. We still have 2 years for a new star to shine, for a progressive to break through, for the DNC to maybe get a clue.
I'd rather hear discussions about who is best to face off against Collins, how can we take back some of the house seats where the margins are thinnest, where could we break in.
There will never be a perfect candidate for any office. You will always have issues you don't align on. If you think you align on everything, you're probably not looking closely enough. Vote for freedom, join the conversation and advocate for change. I have seen many politicians change their beliefs over the years, often their positions are uninformed and giving them the right information can help and assuming they know the facts helps no one.
We are all flawed. We have all made mistakes. We are all capable of change. Politicians are no less suited to making mistakes than we are.
Look at the robo taxi situation they have going. The same tech that is stopping people off in the middle of the road is what is being used for FSD.
I wouldn't be surprised if we found out that the whole thing is a scam and there is some sweat shop full of teenagers remotely driving cars. I feel like the random stops where they shouldn't stop is exactly how someone who learns how to drive playing GTA would drive.
I'm tired of these defective cunts saying that it is ok to treat any person like this. These are people. What if we reversed the situation, do you still think that's necessary?
I want to make every one who defends this shit live like that for a week.
According to the Constitution, maps will be drawn by the states. There is no national law against gerrymandering. The voting rights act only ensures that there are opportunity districts for minorities.
The only laws these maps violate are state laws and that will be alleviated by putting the action to a vote.
43 year old American who at 10 would ride a bike over a mile to school and spent my summers pretty much going wherever I wanted on my bike or walking. But things have definitely changed.
People have forgotten their own childhood and see kids on their own as troublemakers. Or like in this case, they feel they know better than parents.
We've also given up what little walkability we had to wider streets with higher speed limits. The small town where I grew up has significantly more people and more and larger intersections. Many of the roads have also been widened.
Finality, policing has changed. At least where I grew up officers were members of the community. They were there to uphold the law and would rather take you home or talk to your parents than charge or detain you. It would have been national news for a cop to handcuff and detain a 10-14 year old, now it is expected and celebrated. IMO policing is a profession that has lost its humanity. They are enforcers, not peace officers.
How about you can only leave 10% of your net worth to your family. The rest is put into a lotto pot for a drawing of winners from all citizens. There would be multiple winners so that the pot is divided equally, and the total individual prize would not exceed 100 million. All investment assets would get rolled into social security and Medicare.
