  • There's been a few movies where it's like almost instantly. Sometimes the screeners get leaked, and they tend to be higher quality. Final release quality is usually just before they start coming out for sale on the Google Play/Amazon stores, or when they start playing in the secondary market budget theaters. If you have one of those nearby, when you see they are playing the movie you are after, start looking for a higher quality dl

  • That's a bit of a stretch. The inability of some low level bureaucrat (an intern if I remember correctly) to do a basic amount of background research before extending an invite, doesn't exactly instantly mean a government is pro fascist. Like let's knock this back down from a ten to a two on the panic scale a bit.

If you wanted to argue that Canada as a whole has a checkered past of racism and arguably some fascist tenents, you aren't entirely wrong. We have historically treated the aboriginal population terribly, and this is their land. There's the mass graves of little children, that we kidnapped against their will, entrapped and abused, to contend with. We imprisoned innocent people with Japanese origins during WWII. Like we ain't perfect either, for sure.

  • Project 1861

  • Banning stuff isn't the answer. I believe in actually free speech and discourse. Our media up here is already so saturated with American thinkslop, the CBC is our last stand (and under constant attack by Conservative grifters).

I believe in the right for Tucker to say what he's got on his mind, just as much as I believe in the right to point our fingers and say, "get a load of this fucking idiot." Buddy looks like an absolute tool bag, and obviously is just karma farming. That's how these people like trump and him get so rich, they karma farm this shit. That's true evil by the way.

  • Probably because she's leader number 2 that is quickly coming to the realization that she's lost control of the asylum. Not that she's not also a member, but holy fuck the internal politics of this party must absolutely be insane. You can't even keep up with it, it's in a constant state of chaos and bad actors trying to Out-Machiavellian the others.

It's almost like uniting was...a bad idea

  • I mean if you can't tell the jimmy neutron looking guy with hot dog fingers is AI, there's not much hope for these people anyways.

Me? I'm cheering for the comet.

  • Trust me, our shitty attention spans show in every aspect of the world. The rise of people like Trump and the far right. Social media swallowing the world. AI being trumpeted as a game changer even though it's largely slop. Economies world wide in decline, because no one actually creates value anymore, it's just you sell to me, I mark up sell to you, you mark up and sell to that guy, he marks up and sells back to me, adnaseum. We are fucked. Fuckety fucked fucked, fucked.

  • To me, it just shows how out of touch and useless most CEOs are. The modern executive model is totally broken, these people effectively don't actually do anything, and they ultimately destroy shareholder value when they are supposed to be protecting it. The executive compensation model is supremely broken, and if AI can replace anyone, it's them. Not the people that make things and processes function.

Problem is, AI was built and trained on the sort of broken logic that prevails today, so if it replaced executives it would probably act in an even worse manner. Because it's a reference tool at most (and a shitty one that's in a primitive state), not a replacement for human capital.

  • I mean ok, like point taken, and it's a good one. But what's the amount of money that should be spent on something that can be privatized without affecting public welfare vs how much should be allocated to stuff like health care, pharmacare, education, etc.? Stuff that has more of an effect on public welfare.

Stop and take an honest look at what you get in the mail. If you are like me, it's 98% junk and unsolicited mail, and 2% parcels, which are easily taken care of by the private sector. I mean once a year my grandma sends me cards or whatever, but why should we be burning 100's of millions for this. Personally I'd way rather than funding get allocated to health care or education.

I get that people also lose jobs here though, and that legit sucks.

  • My garage door keeps trying to sell me a subscription so it will work with my car. My garage door! Where does it end!?!!

  • If you are actually a tech nerd, you would know that AI is the scam it is. It's the trash executives who need to be mentioned in this meme, not tech nerds.

  • Yes all that Canadian Fentanyl. Everyone in the world knows Canada is such a massive macro world leading net exporter of fentanyl.

Maybe if a certain country didn't, you know, have such a voracious appetite, there maybe wouldn't be such a problem. But nobody ever thinks about it that way. I mean is the cartel the cartel, for example, should a certain large world marketplace stop consuming? They should stop consuming fentanyl just to spite Canada! (And I mean hey at least something positive would come out of this).

  • Well I mean in line with the same logic, I don't really notice Europe screaming about it much either.

I think the very big Canadian lesson in all of this, and especially what we've learned with Ukraine and Russia and all of that, is that we are going to be largely left to our own devices. Thoughts and prayers and some token contributions are going to be made from our allies should something stupid happen, and thats going to be about it. So Canada better get double time working on this Citizens Army and all these other initiatives that are supposedly in the plans for 2026. We are going to get caught flat footed otherwise. It's going to be 1936 and we are Poland.

  • The only people pushing AI are executives and people who are selling it. To moron executives. It's all very circular.

  • Creating memes, karma farming and spreading Facebook outrage. Because that pays the bills, and creates prosperity.

  • I mean even Nigeria shows initiative. All these fat fucking pieces of shit can do is whine, stomp their feet and complain. They don't have anything actually beneficial to add to the world marketplace, other than their dirty oil thats going to then involve even more challenges to get to market. Just even that fact alone, shows how smart these morons are. Place is going to be more like Mad Max, because the UCP isn't smart enough to run their own reserves or treasury. They'll keep robbing the friggin bank!

  • Going to get a big heaping spoonful of reality with oil in 2026 too, the outlooks not looking too hot. Governments going to need to run big deficits, all the healthcare cuts are going to really start kicking in, and these muppets are all going to be losing their jobs. It's going to be interesting, to say the least, to watch the amount of twisting and maneuvering they are going to need to do to justify licking Marlaina's boots, as they are so prone to do. No doubt in my mind they'll continue to spew UCP diarrhea, but oh boy is it going to be like watching a game of twister.

I'm resolved to just watch at this point. If these people are so fucking stupid, they can continue to cheer while anyone who actually has capital all leaves with the bags. That includes myself. I mean I ain't got all that much capital compared to the big boys, but I'm just one of tens of thousands that will be cutting and running. FAFO.

  • This is my LinkedIn feed. What a wild adventure opening up that app is. I do it once a week, only to read the most unbelievable shit that humankind has ever written. It's mostly AI content now and then the comments are AI comments talking to AI posts. Some timeline we are on.
