  • Which stance? Is it the One China Policy that the entirety of the world ratifies, including the US and Taiwan itself?

I don't concern myself with politicians talking out of their neck, before you pull on that thread. I'm talking official policy. Ask yourself why nobody will claim the opposite of what China says officially and then talk about reality.

  • I think KDE Neon would be nice for a new user. I like Pop OS and it's really cute and sleek but the shortcuts are needlessly different from windows a bunch of times, if she's somehow used to alt+tab to change windows and not just window groups she's gonna have a hard time learning another way to do it.

  • TIL

    Jump
  • and they're not even called "pimenta" in spanish, it's pimiento

  • You need every bit of juice, you wouldn't want telemetry to miss any of your keystrokes and send that info to microsoft all incomplete. Think of all the productivity losses if one of the dozens of react appplications running on idle were to lag even more than they already do!

  • God damn, you gotta stop treating theslappablejerk's videos as rhetorical guides.

  • I’m also guessing that you didn’t actually read the article you linked because its says the same thing I’m saying:

Articles aren't for reading, they're for headline skimming so you can look like you have sources. If they fail, there's always another one to try, you can even pretend that means evidence is overwhelming!

  • And the roux version is inferior imo. I like using the sodium citrate used in boxed m&c or American style cheese, but add mozzarella or proper cheddar, a hard cheese, and milk. That shit is fantastic. The US has plenty of great relatively modern dishes but you can't expect to get anything that does them justice off the shelf.

  • Not an USAmerican (thank fuck) but I'm holding onto even my shitty faulty devices to make them into other stuff rather than buy. I'm repurposing an old laptop for a media server and I'm considering repairing an old phone to turn it into a dedicated handheld console, pretty much out of spite because I know manufacturers are mad they can't get away with them lasting three months and rigging them with high explosives to prevent disassembly without their permission.

  • no no no, you don't get it. Putin has paid the US billionaire president (or blackmailed him, or charmed him, whatever), which means everyone aligned with the government is a Russian propagandist, unless they say exactly what I want to believe about the Aveng- I mean about Ukraine.

  • He really is the new and improved Millennial Bernie. Even AOC was pretending not to be a DNC stooge for like a year and this dude is speedrunning it before he's even sworn in. Young enough to become the socdem class traitor GOAT if he can pace himself.

  • I wish they were forced to make them user repairable enough to change the fucking battery and the charging port, which is what always fails first. There's zero reason for me to change this phone until it legitimately becomes unusable and zero reason for it to stop receiving security updates in a year.

  • The only way the US could have stopped it would have been not to coup Yanukovich in the first place or engage in an all-out war with Russia that would kickstart WW3 and, most likely, nuclear war.

As Marxist-Leninists have been saying from the first month of the engagement, the point has never been for Ukraine to win with full support from the west, but to use an expendable proxy to attempt weakening a perceived threat with as little commitment as humanly possible, I can't believe y'all keep falling for the same transparent playbook.

  • Friendly reminder that there's a provision in the UN charter for members of the security council to engage in acts of war without approval from other members against WW2 axis powers if they reinstate policies of aggression.

  • Afghanistan had a heavily armed population in a mountainous and very cavernous terrain where air support was a liability and heavy infantry/armored divisions were absolutely useless, not to mention a very motivated guerrilla popping up from every corner.

Ukraine is running out of their sponsor's money and gear, and they have to kidnap young people off the streets to get enough cannon fodder. That's not even close to a comparable situation. Try living in the real world for maybe an hour and you'll stop being blindsided by your copium dreams.

  • The fell for it again award for US vassals

  • So that does include Finland

  • To find out is divine

  • They can't be as bad as the book because they can't have a marathon length monologue to end them

  • If anything, I'd want them to keep Texas and give back the rest
