I'm a human being, god damn it. My life has value.

  • There's a distinction between 1st amendment free speech and, more colloquially, tolerance for free expression. The OOP was complaining about firings, so they are referring to the latter.

It's easy to understand people when you think for a minute and give them the benefit of doubt, I find.

  • Made my 7yo giggle, thanks :)

  • Jerry Seinfeld likes the KKK, got it

  • Nonsense. You're only saying that because it's never worked.

  • I'd have done no better, I'm not broadcast ready at all and I'd have been nervous as hell. Just being a snerky jerky internet person, don't mind me

  • Welcome to the jungle, baby! You're gonna sigh!

  • Politicians never let a good crisis go to waste. Violence begets violence, but I don't think now is the time to lie down and take it.

Really hard to win a civil war against the government though, would really be better to start one under a Dem.

  • I think that's your B story right there, the fact that they're all misfits, too out of step with their times, driven by a wild yearning and a sense of romanticism. The movie itself is 0% anachronistic, but the protagonist are anachronistic in spirit.

Dracula meanwhile as a villain represents postmodernism, apathy, and the banality of evil. He's ironic, sleek, with it - a Londoner par excellence, rich and idle, but his life is a living death, figuratively as well as the whole undead thing.

The third act sees the protagonists combine their fighting styles excellently, but without avail. However, their foolhardy spirit and absurd heroism inspires Dracula to an inner awakening, and they come to an understanding in the end.

Post credits stinger: Van Helsing and Captain Ahab combine forces to take down a were-whale.

  • It's well informed while being the mildest take imaginable. Doesn't condone violence, doesn't do a victory lap, just ever so gently connects one dot to another.

I would sack someone for using the phrase 'sort of' that often though.

  • Sorry for @ing you, I'm on mobile and not checking my shit as well.

I cope with humour too, which is why I'm trying to help OP. I want them to be good at it, for health reasons.

  • It's not that there's no potential here, it's mainly imo that you didn't bother to write a joke. Merely posting a photo of someone bad getting hurt isn't funny on its own, you have to add your own spin on it.

  • Well now I don't know what to think

  • Going against his beliefs is the main thing I do in life, but I'll make an exception since it's a special day..

  • It's not simple. The only real way I have to know if it's a problem is to react based on whether the jokes are funny or not.

Example: When my life is being literally ruined, I don't joke about suicide, I joke about how much fun I'm having. When I get a loose eyelash stuck under my eyelid though it's right to "Jesus fuck just kill me please".

  • I think the phrase is "talk shit, get hit"

  • The politicians would never let a crisis this good to to waste. It was always going to be something, it might as well be something I get to enjoy.

  • I wish I could have convinced my friend to quit the weird racist shit he got pilled on years ago. He used to be a dyed in the wool Marxist, then spent 10 years on 4chan for some reason and did a 180°. I had to walk away from my best friend of twenty years.

  • I don't know my international defense pact articles well enough

  • Maybe. But the Russians have always been better at psyops than us. It was true in the cold war and it's been true since their hybrid war over the last decade.

Putin is probably at his least clever now that anyone who can tell him nyet has been defenestrated. He's not a genius or anything, but he's smart enough to cause massive problems for everyone else.

  • This feels intense. I always assumed Russia would cleverly test article 4 until everyone started to question if it was even a real policy.

Edit: I think everyone knew I meant article 5, but noting it just in case.
