  • Any distro should work just fine, so the typical three: Debian, Fedora, Arch, or something else. Gnome 46 supposedly added support for Microsoft accounts as well as onedrive in the Nautilus file manager, so you should be able to “store all of your data.”

  • Does internet work? You can check by running “ping archlinux.org” in a terminal, (Ctrl C to stop it). If you are connected to internet you could search for packages using the “pacman -Ss <e. g. chromium>”, and or install by using “sudo pacman -S

  • The Orion browser for iOS is capable of using Firefox and Chrome extensions, although support can be a little spotty. Ublock works quite well though.

  • I just tried it and it worked flawlessly, my TV is a lot less sluggish now. Just make sure you turn off Windows Defender before using.

  • You should’ve read the article, ”You should run the ISO with sufficient RAM (1GB should be more than enough). Such an amount of memory is required because packages to be installed are stored in RAM (on the initramsfs) instead of the disk. This is currently the best method since the OS is not yet able to read on a USB stick or CD-ROM by itself, so it relies on the bootloader for this. ”

    I guess you could run on lower ram, but package installs require more.

  • The BIOS is an operating system, albeit a super low level one. What is wrong here? It would only be software gore if it said that it was part of the windows operating system, since the BIOS is a system operating system.
