  • With the Earth's elliptical orbit, momentum would only get you so far in terms of sticking with the planet.

  • I came to this to post the same method with turning off lights so they go toward my patio door, then I just crack the door and shoo them out. Glad to see someone else using this very fast method, generally it only takes a few minutes for the fly to decide it doesn't want to be in the dark.

  • It's too bad JD Vance won't be joining the Couch Mile High Club on Air Force 2.

  • Ah is that the line of attack? He was married in 1994, the political landscape then was vastly different then, compared with now. But republicans are going to grasp at any thread they think they tug to unravel Harris's campaign.

  • Nope, but serving in the IDF, and having some vocal opinions on the campus protests in favor of Palestine is just the thing Harris doesn't need to be saddled with.

  • Oh hot damn I'm so relieved. I was pretty worried she'd go with Shapiro, and then have a solid argument against her based on his service in the Israeli military. After seeing multiple people on lemmy say "They shouldn't choose Tim Walz.... we want to keep him for our selves", that seemed like a solid endorsement by his constituents. Then Bernie endorsed the guy, so I feel pretty damn good about this selection if it proves to be true.

  • With all the plants overgrowing atop the sign, it looks like a picture from the post apocalypse, where the gas prices were obscene during end times.

  • This type of geoengineering feels real ripe for the law of unintended consequences.

  • Even as useful as I've found it, probably not.

  • Harris was a prosecutor, and a successfully I hear, there was never any chance Trump would risk debating her on live TV. He maybe able to fire hose lies against Biden, but Harris would rip him apart, and the best part is, he knows it. He has nothing to gain from debating her, so he will come up with excuse after excuse to avoid it.

  • I hate the implication that you only have value if you have children, and if you don't have children you don't matter and neither do your opinions. As if having children is some grandiose accomplishment, only achieved by the best of society.

  • I came to ask the same question! I love technology connections!

  • Nah, they never had a need to build big fancy nests when they were in their natural habitat. Now many of them live in cities where they nest on the sides of buildings, which are very cliff like. I don't think they're a very intelligent bird, but the nest building behavior is instinctual, so I wouldn't expect them to dynamically adjust their nest building.

  • I recently learned that since pigeons lived on cliffs, they really only need a bit of sticks to keep their eggs in one place. Unlike a bird, which builds its nest in a tree.

  • I hope this works well! I'm trying to De-google my self, swapped of of gmail to proton mail. However I use a lot of spread sheets for tracking stuff and being able to access those from my desktop, from my phone, where ever via Google Docs was difficult to replace. I look forward to how people feel about this.

  • How I Met your Mother

  • I couldn't agree more. The idea seemed to have been "Hey, lets take a joke that was just luke warm at best to begin with, and then over use it in an attempt to wring every single spec of amusement out of it until our audience gets physically sick when they hear it"

    Still a fun show though!
