  • The joke I saw is, "They're mad that brown people have the right to exist, so they're doing their own kkkickoff."

  • 13th Amendment has a fun little loophole just for that.

  • Add it to the list of reasons I'm disgusted with my country, and disgusted with myself for ever being proud of it.

  • Comparing the audience garnered by corporate media vs unethical independent media vs ethical independent media, America functionally does not actually have a free press. Take it from someone who had to stare down the barrel of a camera and get blasted on live TV for doing the right thing.

  • Fair enough, I can respect that. Honestly, I'd rather read a book. Don't get me wrong, it has nothing to do with elitist bullshit like story quality or anything. I'm just bad at video games, and I don't want to have to demonstrate nearly superhuman dexterity skills and reflexes or insane 4D-chess pattern prediction just to find out if I was right about the villain back story twist we've been building up to for four years. And getting kicked back to chapter 1 every time I fuck up a check or an attack would make me go crazy. X'D

  • Frankly, watching theatrical silent playthroughs of a video game is something I prefer. Especially if the player is both skilled at the game and good at making consistent roleplay decisions. A good editor makes a big difference.

The game itself is entertaining enough. And there are more than a few people who are better at playing said game than me. So watching someone else play is kind of like listening while someone else reads a book out loud.

  • Hello Invidious, my old friend.

  • I've been meaning to learn how to sabotage the pump to get the ads to not even play. It's on the list of anarchist things to do.

  • Literally though! This is literally the entire reason I got fed up with ads! What's the point if I'm too poor to buy the junk they're hawking?!

  • There are a couple of VPNs with built-in DNS blocking for advertisements. Athena is a solution that uses your phone's VPN functionality to route traffic served from known ad networks into a digital brick wall like Roadrunner baiting Wile E. Coyote into a painted tunnel.

  • Brave is run by a fascist tech oligarch. They're still collecting your data to send to ad companies, they're not even half as 'privacy respecting' as they claim to be. If you're an American, you should be worried. Those ad companies are, by extension, selling their data to the government to bypass the 4th Amendment.

Brave doesn't do anything that uBlock Origin and Mullvad don't already do better.

  • Huh. No wonder she wore her husband's ceremonial beard, she had a weak chin.

  • She can be both. In fact, I think it makes her even sexier knowing she was such a singularly competent and effective head of state.

  • Powerful Woman and Morally Sound Leader are two rings on a Venn diagram. Margaret Thatcher was a powerful woman, but she was also an Irish-hating piece of shit tyrant who shouldn't have had the privilege of dying of old age.

  • I needed to see a Sam Gamgee quote in the wild today. Thank you.
