  • It's imposible to find anything on the internet any more, most of the links are deleted, I could go and look into thousands of middle east spectators posts which is were I found out, but I'm not, this is the best I can do

  • His wife was doing propaganda for isis. I don't understand why anybody here would like him.

  • Charlie got famous for being bad at dodging bullets, so that is not much of an accomplishment.

  • Regime change.

  • No it's not, she truly believes the silly graphs disprove that there is a genocide, because that's what everyone her thinks. She never even began to question things, she is entirely a product of the system. She sees herself as a champion of truth against Russian interference.

If things had been different that would be us.

These people are in power precisely because they go along. They want their money and their brunch, that's all the motivation there is.

  • The system selects for the blandest most agreeable people, because they are more easily indoctrinated. She believes hideous shit because everyone around her believes hideous shit.

  • Ukrainian Nazis are cannibalistic both literally and metaphorically, they will gladly blame him for the defeat and then eat him.

  • Matrix is about people angry about living in an illusory paradise brought to you by the machines, so they go underground. brave new world is about people angry about an illusory paradise brought to you by drugs, so they go to mexico.

I would put brave new world as the subset, since it adds the idea of eugenics(so I guess in the intersection with gataca) and production of people as commodities, I don't know we're that fits.

  • Was directed by one of the Monty python guys, and another one stars there. Great movie, mc is an asshole. Living in Latin America I find it very relatable, just today i spent all morning run Ning around in order to get an id, that I already had, but somehow I need a new one.

  • It's at times like this I'm grateful we have more emotes than users.

  • I mean Brazil is about bizanytine bureaucracy, while 1984 is a dumbasses idea of the Soviet union, while there is some overlap I would argue neither is a subset of the other, if anything Brazil should de the bigger set.

I do agree it has nothing to do with brave new world or the handmaid's tale.

  • Thanks obama

  • F35 can't fly on the rain

  • Propagandists should be hanged when they are not on my side, sure. I think we all can agree on that.

  • No none of this real, even the use of fentanilo is widley exaggerated.

Even if it were real, so what. when the us held Afghanistan it was producing almost all the worlds opium, so exporting opium and opium products to the us is something everyone should do for the sake of symmetry.

  • So no looking up how to make meth on erowid

  • Hehehe the reaction of the guy in the tall hat seems fitting for this discussion

I guess broadcasting for general audiences does change things.

  • So is Chinese censorship, it's the publishers and copy rights holders that decide wether a series is cancelled or not.

Technically so is stormfront but we knot it tows the state department line.

It ultimately does not matter if the censorship is market based or if there is a commissar telling you what to do like in Disney, or if the authors have the boot all the way down their throats they can't even begin to think of anything subversive. All are forms of media control.

In the end, there is much more diversity of both subversive thoughts and unsavory things in Chinese media. Partly it's because they are more literate so they produce more slop, but mostly they have less censorship be it self imposed, at the market level or by the state.

  • On the other hand I have seen the opposite, were the boba wifus in the English translated Chinese comic strip get censored but in the original or the Russian or Spanish version they don't.

So I think you are right that if there is censorship it probably has to do with broadcasting times.
