  • That's unnecessarily clickbaity, the article doesn't mention it's specifically nudes that came back, just old photos.

  • Everyone just copied everything from each other. Floppy, then Twilight CDs. Then came the internet and exploring music there was better than sitting around waiting for a song to come on the radio to quickly press record. It was normal when I was young to share, not really an active choice.

  • Giving it a try since I haven't heard of this.

It seems to have cool options, but for navigation it's just completely unusable.

  • You never tried installing Wine?

  • Depends on the country. I once got some people in trouble when I passed through Germany because I didn't know internet is heavily censored/surveilled there. Haven't had trouble anywhere else though. Do some research on your country.

The biggest threats come from the movie industry. Just use streaming sites for movies and series, torrent the other stuff.

Look into Tribler, I2P and Utopia.

  • I must be out of touch.

I didn't think I'd need an app to visit YouTube.

  • Tbf the only reason I know that YouTube has paid subscriptions is because of threads like this one, so it doesn't seem like they're really pushing their paid service.

Maybe they're only targeting people who, for some reason, don't block ads, and that's why I'm unaware, but they should offer a little more than the things you can get for free already (no ads, downloading) if they want to draw in the adblocker crowd too.

Now people will start to google what's up with all those ads and end up installing uBlock.

  • I accidentally watched a YouTube video on a browser without blocking. It started with an ad. I thought I'd just endure it this time. Then another ad. OK, just this time then. Suddenly, another ad in the middle of the video. I gave up. Who'd have the patience to sit through this?

Then there's Google's habit of completely ignoring the browser's language settings so I have to sit though ads I don't even understand.

  • On streaming sites (Fmoviesz), some mirrors have a download button. You can also use the Video Downloadhelper plugin for Firefox.

  • Apparently nearly 70% of US is religious, so I don't know why you'd be surprised about people believing in ghosts. I would even say you need a deeper understanding of the world to understand why ghosts can't exist.

  • If interest rates rise, what will typically happen to bond prices?

Is this basic financial literacy? Who deals with this on a daily basis?

As for the other questions (inflation, interest), any average person knows this. What kind of people did they ask?

  • Where would this be unconventional?

  • You have to learn to fool yourself and to not ask such questions

  • God is unreasonable and scary when you are a Christian, at least for me when I grew up. You're basically told he can read your mind so you pretend he's a great guy, but to me an evil God is just Christianity.

  • All phones I've had, had the jack on the bottom where it's in the way of me holding the phone or placing the phone on something. I always wondered why it's not just at the top.

BTW just got a new phone (Oneplus) and I'm glad to have found one that has a jack at all

  • I'm missing the ashtrays in the 90s photo

  • People coming over for work/business: expats.

Unemployed people migrating to look for a better life or job: (im)migrants.

    That's how I understood it.

I'm kind of in between. I'm not an expat, but immigrant doesn't sound right neither. I just call myself a foreigner.
