IT dingus from Germany who's gonna move to Australia soon™

  • Bringing home fast food is lazy, regardless of who does it. There's nothing fun about eating overpriced slop because you were too lazy to prepare something yourself....

Also "Run-of-the-mill mom"? My mum never pushed me on swings. Always had to wait for my dad to do that.

  • The "damage control" they're doing clearly isn't working that well, eh?

  • He just buys new ones every three days

  • Don't buy consumer laptops, especially not ones that are this cheap. Buy used business laptops; Dell Latitude, Lenovo ThinkPad, even used HP EliteBooks are better are better value than most stuff you get under 1000€ new.

Even a dual-core Haswell CPU is gonna be better than a Celeron. Plus you'll be able to upgrade storage and RAM.

  • Ask him if he uses Arch btw. I want him to be a crossover hipster/neckbeard nerd

  • Dude, you never had "social permission" to do this in the first place, none of us asked for this shit. You're literally destroying the planet, the economy and our future for your personal gain.

    You useless waste of space.

  • Aiming for radio appeal and catering to the masses is ok, as long as you do it from the start.

Every musician/band I know of that changed their sound to be more radio friendly has given up their own sound.

The first example that comes to mind would be Kevin Parker; the first two Tame Impala albums are amazing, but since then he went full pop. It worked for a few songs, but recently his features in other songs were better than his own stuff (i.e. New Gold by Gorillaz and Neverender by Justice) IMO.

As far as AC/DC goes, I grew up with Black Ice, which is a decent album (albeit a bit bloated) but nothing I would necessarily would want to revisit any time soon. Pretty much all of their (popular) stuff sounds so big, yet lacks real depth in my opinion.

  • I'm not sure what Nutella wants to accomplish with with his constant "warning", because nobody cares. Apart from his billionaire buddies maybe.

  • I obviously never met any of them but the band itself just comes across as a bunch of douchebags, especially James Hetfield.

  • Meatloaf just had this annoying voice that made his music unbearable, the instrumentation is kinda ok if you like bloated overdramatic arena rock.

Being an anti-wax asshat, he died of COVID a couple of years ago. He was gonna do anything for love, but he wouldn't do that.

  • Have you listened to their first few albums? They really went down the soulless pop music route after Viva La Vida IMO

  • To be honest? AC/DC; they've got plenty of good songs but plenty of duds as well. It's pretty much become one of those bands that if you ask someone, who's wearing their tshirt what their favourite song/album is, they either won't be able to give you an answer, or pick a really obvious one (most likely either Highway to Hell or Hell's Bells).

It's the same with Metallica and, to a lesser extent, Iron Maiden.

  • A space cocky!

  • Pre-nstalling Windows 11 Home on a laptop that's over 1k is very disrespectful to both the buyer and the hardware.

Hope it at least comes in S Mode. /s

  • Tried that and it's good, but foobar is so much more customisable.

  • I tried an Affinity-specific for of wine before, not sure if that's the one, but it was very slow and crashed a lot. Although that was a few years ago, I'm sure it's gotten a lot better.

  • I'm glad I don't really have any apps that require windows any more; apart from Affinity, which doesn't run in wine that well, and foobar2000, which genuinely works so well in wine that I might as well forget that there's no native Linux release.

  • Take that, Nutella!

  • So maccas will employ sentient i-dogs in 2050? That's retro as fuck

  • I knew that the "standard" KDE apps have windows versions, but Dolphin?

Edit: Looks like the newest version of Dolphin for Windows is from the development branch and was made in 2022.
