  • Most people can't even afford their own house, let alone installing filtration. My area has been covered in wildfire smoke recently. My apartment has no AC. I get to choose breathing in the smoke and having some cooling from outside, or breath slightly less smoke but swelter in the heat.

  • For anyone interested, the Climate Deniers Playbook is a podcast that is well researched and covers many of the myths and major talking points about climate change, mostly from an american perspective.

  • Maybe as a nation, we shouldn't be letting profits get in the way of feeding people? Just a wild suggestion.

  • In our age, a depressing number of people would choose option 2. We as a society are getting more & more selfish each year.

  • Transportation minister? More like minister of car dependancy. Or minister of the auto and oil lobby.

  • Ford is so economical. Thats why he is spending tax payer dollars ripping out newly installed bike lanes and spending money fighting about it in court because the conservatives are "fiscally responsible".

  • So obviously corrupt and for the wealthiest class yet the people of Ontario keep voting him in to own the libs or something

  • The police need vehicles capable of 4x4 in rural communities and rough dirt roads. This is to access the entire comunity but also give better success in chasing the drunk dodge ram driver into the corn field. The police also sometimes have things like trailers for crime scene investigation or boats for water based policing, they need a vehicle capable of towing those.

They also use some unmarked trucks for traffic control as they blend in better allowing them to do radar more effectively.

  • The people of Ontario need focused leadership on many major issues they are facing. Wasting time by meddling in municipal affairs while the country is begging canadians to support each other is pathetic. Ontario can do better, deserves better, and needs better leadership from our premier than this.

  • Somehow conservatives fucking love and celebrate the guy

  • Yes many don't realize the clause was originally called the notwithoutdriving clause.

  • They'll be safe when bikes are banned province wide

    Edit: /s

  • You lost the court case doug. Give it a fucking rest and do something useful for the people of Ontario for a change. Right there with you ready to protest if he pushes this further.

  • Using the notwithstanding clause to build high speed rail and dense housing? Nah lets fuck up some bike lanes instead

  • The people of Ontario need focused leadership on many major issues they are facing. • Sorry, we'd rather keep paving over farmland to make unaffordable mcmansions because our leaders cannot fathom a country that is self sufficient where values aren't constantly increasing

  • We won't let perfect be the enemy of good, plus brts are wgere density could prove most effective. Unfortunately we can't rebuild our cities overnight but this is definitely progress if it goes through. Brts are a lot harder to get rid of than regular bus lanes so between the brt and the density it could solidify those areas as transit friendly, maybe even upgrading the brt to a tram. Then once people realize how great that is more neighborhoods might want to do the same a few years later.

  • Yea things like climate change are one of this biggest crises facing our planet. We don't need politicians watering down solutions and catering to a group of people who don't even believe in climate change because their personality is tied to their f250.

  • It doesn't matter how warm the earth gets if the soil and water is so polluted we cannot grow crops
