  • They were getting DDOS attacks.

  • Ugh, the car!

I live in the heat. I have to start to car before hand, just to make it so the family doesn't melt to the seats. It connects. I switch it back to my headset. I go back in the house to get stuff to load up, and I go out of range. Get back in range. It connects again. I switch it back to the headset. I forgot something....

Rinse and repeat like 5 times before I'm good to go. Whole time, I'm only catching every 10th word of whatever someone is saying to me on the phone, thinking it lost service, or they hung up on me.

    I hate auto connect.

  • I think it depends on if he somehow becomes president or not.

If he doesnt, maga will die with him. If he does, all the rules will have been changed and all he needs to do is appoint next in line. Even if people don't agree with the person he appoints, or the party tries to put someone else in their place, it will be too late.

  • I kinda think it would have been a better investment if they created some sort of local farm, of some kind.

It doesn't help with name brand products, but it would give the community fresh food, some employment, and some extra revenue. Dry goods and other products are deliverable, and much of it is not required for survival. I mean we are talking food deserts.

They could experiment with which farming techniques would be better suited to carry us into out changing climate. Maybe become a model for other farms to follow.

  • And, I dont understand how he could, now, be having a public nervous breakdown, if he wasn't before. He always made personal attacks.

  • The problem is that I let it play even after I saw what it was...

  • Fox's lie. Who'd ever believe their news?

  • It's called The Tornado. They have them at a bunch of water parks in the states. So far, nobody's been crazy enough to try that yet.

  • What if he doesn't mean that he's going to be a dictator. What if he means he will purge the country of anyone that doesn't think like him and his followers, therefore they never have to vote again because everyone will be on the same page. J/k...mostly

  • Nah, it's good. No pressure. These are just resources that I kinda had to stumble across, although im sure theyre in some super accessible place and im just a ding dong. Figured if they could help another person, then so be it.

It's hard times right now, you do what you gotta do to keep on keeping on. Lemmy.world is a completely fine choice. They're a large, mainstream place to get comfortable in. But, if you get bored one day and want to check out what else is out there, you've got something to get you started.

I wish you luck, some free time, and some peace of mind.

  • If you ever decide you want to branch out, you can try the instance / community browser at https://lemmyverse.net to check out whats out there.

I will say that although it technically doesnt matter what instance you sign up with, sometimes the descriptions aren't very descriptive at all. Definitely give an instance a browse, to get a feel for the overall vibe, before you sign up.

You can check to see if an instance has been defederated from / by other instances, by entering said instance address at https://defed.xyz/

  • Pretty sure that big one is Yosemite.

  • The summary for the post kinda misses the mark on what the majority of the article is pushing.

Yes, the first part describes employees struggling with AI, but the majority of the article makes the case for hiring more freelancers and updating "outdated work models and systems...to unlock the full expected productivity value of AI."

It essentially says that AI isn't the problem, since freelancers can use it perfectly. So full time employees need to be "rethinking how to best do their work and accomplish their goals in light of AI advancements."

  • Start a school and teach everyone, everything he knows. Duh!

  • Technically, it's never been proven that deer can contract CWD from the ingestion of plants. Although, apparently mice and hamsters can.

But, prions suck. Even bleach won't kill these bastards.

Hell, although there's no real, strong evidence to suggest it actually has made the jump, and research has shown it would be really difficult, its probably not impossible. If you ENTERTAIN the stories about the people suspected of possibly contracting CWD, it's even more scary. (Yes, I know the study does more to disprove human infection, than not, but it does a good job of outline suspected cases)
