And the first ones would have been done using more primitive computers, and those by hand. There's indeed a whole bootstrapping problem here where you need the tech to make the tech. You see this with other tech like compliers where new versions of compilers are compiled using the old versions of the same compilers.
That's like 10 development years worth of additional content. There's not many games that get that much post release dev time without a valid monetization strategy.
Unfortunately there are a lot of stupid questions here that are stupid because they don't actually fit the theme of "something you're kind of embarrassed to ask". A lot of them, like this one, aren't even actually questions - they're just thinly veiled rants
I feel like there's a big difference between snatching people off the street and making ad targeting smarter. Yeah they both suck, but orders of magnitude here.
