  • I don't understand the downvotes. In the current market of the Chromium and Firefox duopoly the only real options we have are forks that remove the greedy features. Ladybird is not ready yet.

You currently have no other choice but to use Librewolf, Helium, or one of the other Firefox or Chromium forks if you want to minimise support for Mozilla and Google.

  • I agree, but for now, Librewolf is the best option we have.

Ladybird isn't very usable yet, and Librewolf removes the features that produce profit for Mozilla so you are not directly supporting them.

The alternative is Chromium based browsers, and Helium is a good Chromium equivalent to Librewolf if you prefer the Chrome engine, but it uses a greedy company's engine just like Librewolf, so the indirect support is identical.

  • It's copying Notepad++.

  • They've been known to respond to legal requests to log IP adresses of the users of their VPN. I wouldn't trust them.

  • I understand why, but you didn't have to. Many smart TVs let you set them up without Wi-Fi and just use the HDMI ports.

Samsung, LG, and Google TV models do, but Roku and Fire TV do not.

  • It doesn't matter if you get one. They are the cheapest and best image quality TVs available, and many like Samsung's let you set them up without connecting to Wi-Fi.

  • Librewolf eould be better. Brave is full of bloat and has a controversial past.

  • The Android UX can be changed in a fork. Samsung's One UI is a good example.

  • I haven't found any issues with it. The problem with making their own is that the MS Office file formats are purposefully poorly documented with the spec being over 6000 pages long and MS Office itself not adhering to it. It would be best to start with something where most of the work is done for them.

  • Is Onlyoffice enough for you?

  • Onlyoffice uses a different engine. It has much better MS office file support but worse ODF support.

  • They should have forked Onlyoffice, however I appreciate the effort to make their own from scratch.

  • Why don't they fork Onlyoffice for this?

  • I hate them both. Librewolf and Ungoogled Chromium are the true private and non-profit browsers. Firefox and Brave are full of bloat like Firefox's ads and tracking and Brave's Wallet, News, Talk, VPN etc

  • I think the Wired of Serial Experiments Lain is pretty accurate.

Companies like Meta are actively trying to create an immersive digital world (the "metaverse") like the Wired.

And the Wired is symbolic of the issues with the modern internet, from the escapism and addiction to rumors to false information shaping peoples views to companies controlling the world throigh algorithms and censorship.

The multiple Lains are symbolic of how everyone can a different view of you and your opinions, often shaped by lies, and the Wired Lain which is the one of these actually controlled by her is symbolic of how we act differently online than in real life.

Masami Eiri is symbolic of companies and powerful individuals controlling online narratives and owning most of the internet you interact with.

The Phantoma game is symbolic of how the things that happen and the things that are said online have real world consequences.

It is an absolutely brilliant show which I highly recommend watching if you like visual metaphors.

  • They are not open source though; sorry I didn't see the sub.

  • HDO Box, Onstream, BeeAnime are quite good. You don't need debrid or a VPN for them as they're not torrenting.

  • Cloudflare just checks for bot activity and AWS is just a hosting provider. They don't use data for ads or sell it to anyone.
