  • It's a good idea if you have the right sort of skin tone. IPL works best on people with light skin and dark hair, but it might work on other combinations as well. Unfortunately, it doesn't work very well on dark skinned people

  • That's the power of the E-4 mafia. Troops overweight? Not on paper they aren't.

  • You can absolutely do that. People get abused everyday

  • The only voice training I need to hear is how loud you can howl >:3

  • I'm going to be honest, this isn't something I really care too much about. Failure to restrict something isn't the same thing as endorsing that same thing. Although the article does have two separate messages between the one about a transphobic journalist and the second part about a faux decentralized service. As far as I'm concerned, Mastodon is the best ideologically and Blue sky comes in second place followed by threads and Twitter in a very distant third place. I'm not going to be on any of those platforms except for Mastodon and maybe Blue sky for some things

  • Gosh. I thought this was the onion for a second

  • They want to get rid of the kids, but they have to be ripe first. That's why they're banning abortions too. Make Child Mortality great again

  • Say what are your opinions on Peter Thiel? I bet he would like to do some things with lightweight AI setups.

  • I'm pretty sure this is a bot. They posted 20 minutes before this post on a different Community about something completely different. It's deleted now, but pepperidge farm remembers

  • Isn't that the guy who never answers a question straight? Like he doesn't know if he's a Christian or not and is trying to stand up for Christian values. I think he also really hates queer people or something

  • That's super cute

  • These planes aren't used often. They're strategic bombers and the most expensive of America's bombers too. Both in per flight hour cost and absolute cost

The B2 spirit is primarily made for the nuclear deterrence and warfare role. They are designed to penetrate air defense systems by being stealthy, A concept that was proved by the f-117 Nighthawk.

But since they have a heavy payload they're also used to drop conventional bombs occasionally. When you have to service a large amount of targets or use really big bombs, A strategic bomber is the go-to solution. They used B2 in this case for what my guess is these reasons

    • stealthy means they can get past radar systems and they can shrink any warning time
    • The B2 is the only plane rated to carry the gbu-57 bunker busting bomb. The facilities they were trying to destroy were fortified, so most other bombs wouldn't work.
  • This one seems pretty arcane to me

  • I'm just imagining how much logistic support they're going to need and how many people they'll have to move for this

  • That doesn't really have much to do with domestic stuff. I mean, every military does fucked up stuff, but at the end of the day, they're made of people and have their families. Even myself.

As a service member, I educated myself on tactics, philosophy, diplomacy, economics, culture, mental health, geography, and many other topics to understand how and why military force is used. I know it's not for democracy à la Helldivers. It's used to keep the trade going and to conduct politics through harder power.

You might be an isolationist and that's fine. But don't insult the intelligence of myself who dealt with all sorts of philosophical dilemma and educated herself and others around her

  • As much crap is is going on in the world right now, the US military still has some scruples. They don't just blindly follow Trump's orders. And especially wouldn't just fire into their countrymen. Trump hasn't managed to take over every institution yet. Especially the military.

Service members know how to complain and think for themselves. And if something doesn't seem right, they will clarify the heck out of it and push back. It's not the Russian military

  • This is a side effect of fighting climate science instead of climate change

  • Pee and blood tests, and lots of questions
