That is the most annoying thing, when people crash into spaces and say horrible things and then try to force you to accept it and make you look like the bad guy by saying "they will not listen to differing views, it's an echo chamber!"
I am open to differing views but in views like "the Nazis were bad" or "2+2=4" it should be an echo chamber of consensus… you should not have to accept the "differing view" of "you all got your chronic illnesses through being horrible people, and if you are an angel now, well actually no I'll just make up stuff to prove why you deserve it." There are legitimate but uncomfortable differing views, and there is cruel insanity trying to force someone acting in good faith to accept the view under usual good-faith principles for non-insane views.
I am glad you at least have some kind of support group going on.
There are some genre communities here at least. The incremental community is just broken, but I can get into the Cinny Matrix chatroom just fine: https://incremental.social/.
!tycoon@lemmy.world is active, I run !otomegames@ani.social, there were more that I followed and lost the list of when I lost access to my incremental.social account besides the Matrix stuff. But communities for specific games probably will be hard to find.
Does not help the Reddit otomegames sub shoves other community promo to a Self-Promotion Sunday nobody checks. I get it, constant spam is not fun, but it also sucks for visibility, especially since I asked them if they'd be willing to get off Reddit and move to Fedi and they said no.
I wonder when that plot thread about someone not liking the food truck being a thing will show up. Or if I'm just misremembering, or misinterpreted something.
Maybe SEO strategy targeted for the displaced groups, so Elon-critical people who want to discuss him a lot looking it up can get a link here.
Random thought based off of the fact that a hobby drama post I wanted to share with someone was no longer on Reddit because the post was deleted, but someone reposted it in full to !hobbydrama@lemmy.world and search engines would actually show the Lemmy link
Reply promoting the Fediverse literally any time someone complains about mainstream social media?
Never deleted my accounts, just quit using. (Intended to go back to grab saved posts, never did that.) They have engagement history with certain communities, I should probably go sign back into them and keep an eye out in those communities.
I do think a lot of people online tend to forget teenagers use the internet when people express attraction. I distinctly remember reading a comment on Reddit about how the commenter expressed attraction to Joja Siwa online as a child, and got called a pedophile, and it made their same-age self worry that their attraction was pedophilia. So thanks for remembering.
I feel I do not have enough series knowledge to ask good interesting questions in !pokemon@lemm.ee at all which sucks because I liked reading discussion about Pokémon back on Reddit.
Exposed through pop-cultural osmosis, then through Pokémon GO, and still have not finished my playthrough of HGSS in which I got really really hooked, decided to put it down, and never picked it back up again because I totally forgot what I was doing and probably need to start over.
But also I do like the series and I figure even a less-knowledgeable enjoyer could put something given Lemmy and its need for engagement… but I also feel bad putting out what feels like low-tier engagement bait questions, the like of which I'd see on anime subreddits that were mostly just images and no discussion at all. But have to start somewhere, and if you do not have deep enough knowledge, it is all I can do if I want to read conversations and not just look at pictures. At least I post better questions on !otomegames@ani.social, although they do not always get engagement. (If it gets flat zero comments I delete for eventual reposting of the question much much later in the hopes people do comment!)
Haven't watched this, but judging from the reactions people are giving I feel like it might be a yandere thing that isn't coming off as that properly? There's folks with consensual noncon fantasies and all that who might be interested. What about it makes you say "trash" specifically, and if you are suggesting hentai is it because this anime gets explicit/fanservicey?
My tone might be coming off judgmental but I do not mean it that way, just trying to figure out if I would like to watch or not. I am an adult who understands and respects boundaries. I also enjoy messed-up problematic dynamics in fiction sometimes.
Hey, Frieren has been sitting on my to-watch list for awhile, but despite the name of that list, whenever I pick something off of it I actually tend to look for a manga first.
Despite the URL, this is not just a service for lemmy.world. I have also used it with my ani.social account to post on ani.social, no lemmy.world involvement needed. You could probably use this successfully with your lemm.ee account to post on places you are not banned from.
