Over in my parts we had a big problem of landlords jacking up rent to squeeze tenants out and list the property on Airbnb. I haven't followed those trends in a while though. I think the turnover/cleaning cycle cut into ROI and discouraged that trend a bit.
I thought about this years ago and my best solution was a system to establish a profile, like a vCard with public/private keys that would generate SHA keys to authenticate with services to forward/verify communications. Instead of email, a key and domain or MX; instead of phone numbers a SHA number.
The user could burn contacts or accept invites and stuff.
I imagine some picketers with fake plates for signs in front of LPR's could claim free speech protections. Not their fault Flock's system ingested bogus data. Haha!
Am I alone in not caring what she has to say? The FBI has all the documents and her previous testimony already. She already had the opportunity to defend herself in court pleading her case, was found guilty, and is serving time for crimes she's done.
Hey, Judge person, just say "nope, back to your cell" and close the book.
I got a ticket for parking next to a red curb after the resident painted it. Had to go down to the city and get confirmation it was fake to get the ticket dismissed.
Not really angry about that one. Taught me good info about the government back then.
What I haven't seen mentioned yet is that we have a established registration and licensing system to streamline identification, ticketing, and consequences for vehicles that bicyclists don't use. Tickets for bikes isn't something that can be tacked on to the existing infrastructure easily so of course they have to be processed differently.
Now if bikes/riders were licensed too, that may be easier to include just like vehicles, but good luck trying to push that law through.
They could have been renters in the first place.
