  • Wait, I just switched to Linux yesterday, and the nexus download site said windows was required. I figured it just doesn't work on linux

  • Mm-mm, if I had your giant feet

    Out there on the beach

    Could have outrun those birds

  • I'm getting desensitized to racism and bigotry, but the idiocy of this statement took me aback - "I would probably feel more comfortable there [in a whites-only country] because I'm white and that's the way this country was when my ancestors came there."

  • I was kicked out at 17. I was homeless for a short while, and spent some further time couch-surfing and then in what we essentially a halfway home. My 20s were rough, barely scraping by financially. But you can survive a lot in your 20s, and I'm glad I made it through.

I'm now 38, and it's difficult to condense the journey I've had into a few paragraphs. I got married this year. We own a house in a beautiful, tree-filled neighborhood. I'm a software development team lead despite no degree or formal training.

My life wouldn't be the same without the kindness of friends and strangers, second chances, and a sense of fierce and defiant optimism.

  • "find it!" will cause her to search everywhere for her toy. For the other one, it's whichever starts yodeling if I splash water into the air. I've never heard another creature make the noises he does

  • I read an article years ago where the author played golf with him. The cheating was blatant and obvious, but not malicious. Cheating was a given. Trump expected everyone to cheat, and to not do so was foolish. Anyone who didn't cheat was a chump.

  • So I've been thinking about this, and I haven't done any research yet, but I wonder what email service exists that both respects privacy and also still will definitely be around for the long run

  • While yes, Happy Tree Friends is probably not for kids despite how it might look

  • Deleted

    Permanently Deleted

    Jump
  • "beat up," seems to be putting it very mildly when shotguns and high-speed chases are concerned

  • I'm never going to be able to use the phrase, “Thank you for your attention to this matter," now.

    He's just so, so dumb.

  • I don't have anything helpful to say. Just that that really sucks.

  • I've written semi-personal tools that other team members sometimes use that will break in 2100. The comments note this and really hope they aren't still using these by then

  • If it's fun to pretend, then I'm fine pretending.

  • Tldr:

Older gen Zers, with memories of the 2009-10 financial crisis, are saving more, but experts say employers should help

    Sun 6 Jul 2025 10.00 EDT

Research published at the end of last year by the Investment Company Institute with help from the University of Chicago found that gen Z – those born between 1997 and 2012 – are “outpacing” earlier generations in contributing to retirement, having more than three times more assets in their 401(k) retirement savings accounts than gen X households had at the same time in 1989, adjusted for inflation.

  • Is the "Mission Accomplished" banner from Bush's tenure still available?

  • It's amazing how long I can stay pissed about how WebOS was squandered. My Pre had personality; it's the only mobile I actually miss (aside from nostalgia).

  • It's annoying that we need actual research done to come to the most obvious fucking conclusions, but we have morons claiming it's because they're all stopping because they realized that god made them perfect or something, so here we are.

  • Too many games decide to be either horny or good; I applaud the studies that try to do both.

  • That's Stellar Blade. It came out as a PS5 exclusive a year or so ago but has just landed on PC like yesterday I think. It's a souls-like from a new (to non-mobile games) Korean studio. Evidently the game is very good both as a game and at making people super horny.

I haven't played it, but I've been amused by some of the reviews.
