  • I see this sort of take a lot, and I think it falls into the same category as "Conservatives vote Republican because they're idiots". They're not (necessarily) idiots, you have to accept that they have material interests that are contrary to yours because of their position in society. They might own a small plot of land, have a middle-class professional job, they might own a business or have a large retirement portfolio.

    While they might confuse the two, there is a difference between "What is sexually attractive/preferable to women" and "What behavior and aesthetics will get me laid or help me subjugate a woman or girl".

    Then the equation is less focused on the preferences of women, which they consider irrelevant, and more on the efficacy of actions. "What is attractive to the sort of woman who will put up with my shitty personality and politics?", "How can I be intimidating enough that a partner will say yes or stick with me out of fear?", "Instead of having to build up a relationship over time, how can I pressure a woman who doesn't know how to say no into doing what I want soon after meeting her?"

  • I think both are bad communication. When I hear "messages are not end to end encrypted", I think that my ISP or a hacker might be able to see them but not, like, ordinary people. In reality, whatever shitheads are administrating either your or the recipients instances.

    I think "private messages are visible to both your and the recipients instance administrators" would be more clear
