  • Fairphone 6 is great by the way! Coming from a long time iPhone user.

  • The more the merrier! 😊

  • I totally agree with you. And I saw your post also 😊

  • I'm slightly confused. I guess you're warning people to not promote Israel in this comment section? Just to be clear - I am not promoting Israel in my post. I am raising awareness of a potentially dangerous dependency of American tech.

  • Thank you for clarifying. As I tried to explain in my post, I'm not saying that what Microsoft is doing here is wrong. I'm saying that Microsoft, and other giant tech companies have a leverage on most countries that could become an issue for us in the future, if we don't start relying more on our own technology.

  • Thank you for this tip, I'll try to watch it when I get the time.

So you agree that Russia can end this war by pulling back their armies from Ukraine territory. That would be a first step for Russia to start mending the bridges that they burned with Europe.

  • Yup! No issues whatsoever with the apps.

Well, I don't have contactless payment actually, but I got the phone case where you can fit 3 cards and it works perfectly.

  • Are you saying that Russia is not occupying parts of Ukraine? That the war would not end if Russia retracted their armies and left Ukraine alone?

Honestly, I don't even know why I'm trying to reason with a troll...

  • You can if you want to. I don't.

  • I think you're mistaken here. Russia burned the bridges by invading a European sovereign country. This is not complicated.

  • Fairphone 6 with e/OS. Couldn't be more satisfied!

  • This 👆🏻 Fairphone 6 is awesome! Coming from a guy who has only used iPhones before.

  • This reminds me of the time when I met a British girl during my backpacking days in Australia. She got very upset every time anyone called her Sarah (American accent), because her name was Saaaarah (long first vowel). Everyone around her did their best to accommodate her. But it never even crossed her mind that all of us intentionally pronounced our own names in a very English friendly way, to make it easier for her as an English native speaker to address us 🤦🏻‍♂️

I always present myself with a pronunciation that is easier to pronounce in English. Saying my name as my mother calls me is just weird and strange when you say it in the middle of an English sentence. And likewise, I think it's strange of people to assume that I should be using sounds that don't exist in my native language to pronounce their name, if that is the language we're speaking together.

  • I came from iPhone 11 pro. Honestly, I can't really come up with anything that I miss right now. The switch to android took a bit of time to get used to but it was surprisingly easy actually. And I started my degoogling journey BEFORE switching phones, which really made it easier for me.

Hmm, I get your point. But as far as I understand, all the data that these apps are using come from the openstreetmaps database. So the reviews from Mapy ARE separate from the map. I love having them in the same app though, because it's just so convenient.

  • Mapy is the only one that I've found where you can rate places, like restaurants. That's one of the features that I'm missing the most with these other alternatives.

  • I've made almost the exact same switches as you. I also got the Fairphone 6 with e/OS and I'm loving it.

I'm using a mix of CoMaps and HereWeGo instead of Google Maps, and I love walking around using StreetComplete to help update the openstreetmaps. It's way more fun than pokemon go 😜

My biggest wish would be for CoMaps and Mapy.com to unite to make one, awesome Google Maps alternative, including the possibility of rating places like Mapy.com is doing.

  • I speak multiple languages, but always try to speak the language(s) that include the most people in the room. I find it very offensive when people near me speak a language that most people don't understand, when they could have easily switched to another one, and I would never do that myself.

  • Never heard of him before. Now I've learned that he seemed like a really horrible person...
