  • And calling out user actions is sexist.

Nowhere did I say that, however I did think that one of OP's thread title was misogynist, and he banned me for saying that. He also said it was homophobic to even raise the issue, but again you don't care when it's your friends doing it.

I literally do anarchist organizing IRL, I am an anarchist. Anarchism isn't being in the 'right' online clique, as important as that clearly is to you.

  • I call out people for being sectarian against anarchists. It's literally in the rules one of the comms I mod. I'm not going to defend someone that's being shitty just because they're an anarchist.

I try to report users being ableist when I see it regardless of who it is.

if you're feeling attacked because I called out one of your friends for something I saw as misogynistic, maybe that says more about you than you intended.

  • No rules except the ones you make up to get rid of people you don't like.

not beating the vibes based moderation allegations with that.

I'm literally the only person to get banned from quokk.au and it's a rule essentially made up on the spot.

    is cross-posting brigading now?

the person I was originally replying to seemed pretty outraged at the idea of decisions being made arbitrarily like that- but I'm sure if you guys do it it's fine.

I don't think it's reasonable to say I have a personal vendetta, I'm just bringing this up because the OP is acting like getting banned from one comm for acting like a toxic asshole is actually dictatorial mods banning someone arbitrarily.

  • please direct me to where anything about 'brigading' is mentioned in their rules. it's vibes based bullshit, they banned me because I made a post about their mod acting like an asshole and they went looking for an excuse.

they site banned me for a singular link in a comment on a thread, not even to their site. meanwhile the OP is acting like a martyr for getting a singular comm ban

you moderate for them though, so I can see why you would be inclined to defend their behavior

  • Ok so you’re missing the entire basis point of why this is absurd.

a basis point is a finance unit for 1/100th of a percent, you could just drop the 'basis' and your sentence would make sense.

really funny that you started your whole diatribe about her being confused by botching your own word usage.

I don't really care about butchering the english language, so don't come at me. usually I treat it with the respect it deserves, which is none. the irony, however, was excellent

I got banned from 27 communities on quokk.au for something which is not in their rules, because they were simply justifying retaliation against me for calling the OP out.

I don't think this is a principled complaint that you have.

immediately has dudes looking through her post history to declare her a fake nontypical user account

These people are all terminally online and complaining about the exact behavior that they are fine with when it's people they agree with doing it.

  • oh that was me downvoting you. rather than address anything she said you two were sneering at her for agreeing with me and saying she's on an alt account.

absolutely toxic behavior from you specifically 90% of the time, tbh I tend to toss you one when I see you on general principle.

  • That is exactly the kind of hivemind/culty bullshit that is what people hate about reddit, that there’s basically just a cool kids club that doesn’t actually follow any rules with any consistency, and just acts as a kind of Mean Girls squad, exiling and censoring people … basically for annoying them or making fools of them.

Its middle school mentality. Vibes based moderation. Censorship by popularity contest, where only the cool kids get to vote on that.

You could easily be referring to all the people raging about 'the tankie triad' with this.

The vast majority of the time I look at someone complaining about getting censored on .ml they were either being bigoted or insulting people.

As for vibes based moderation and censoring people for actions in other places, I got banned from quokk.au by their admin for 'brigading' because I cross-linked to a db0 thread complaining about the OPs mod actions. 'brigading' is nowhere in the site rules for quokk.au as far as I'm aware. I am also the only person to have ever been banned by quokk.au in this way so far.

I was banned for 'homophobia' by OP because I complained about his post having a misogynistic title.

You are literally the one defending a powermod who bans people in retaliation, because they got banned from one comm that they clearly despise for being a toxic asshole.

  • (posted in the cryptofash comm)

'i have a 'very negative' view of the oligarchs running the dictatorship of capital, but tankies are subhuman roaches'

kay you were clearly just shitposting

  • How the fuck is chomky a tankie. Based on this evidence he's clearly a lot of things, but calling him a tankie is ridiculous

tankie once more clearly just getting used as a pejorative for anyone an anti-communist social democrat dislikes

  • I said it's a Marxist/anarchist space, and you asked "what about libertarian socialists/communists"

I cast a pretty wide net, who are you including in libertarian socialists/communists that isn't covered by the description Marxist/anarchist?

  • mung beans work great, they cook at about the same speed as lentils. Sometimes I'll throw in black beans, but they usually need to get cooked separately

  • I'm always mixing lentils and beans, they go well together

  • could you please add a link?

  • it has been particularly bad lately, I too have been very busy with end of year shit at work

  • Fair enough, i guess i also “fear” communism in a sense and believe that humanity must work to prevent ourselves from reaching such a state (at least the sort that is typical of it) but i don’t think that’s where much of the criticism on Lemmy stems from

I have a lot of criticisms, but I don’t currently have the energy for a long debate. However, my main criticism is that Marxism is unnecessary as many good things have been achieved and can be achieved under a social democracy.

  • You don't need to delete the whole post. I didn't take offense to it specifically, I was just asking that you remove the meme image as it was a bit inflammatory and we do have a no sectarianism rule.

I certainly don't want you to feel unwelcome either, we probably agree on more things than not.

  • Understood, I can see the reading. I see that hamid is an anarchist too, and I can relate to that frustration with people who are anarchists when on lemmy.

I don't think it's really making that clear, unfortunately. It just looks sectarian absent context. That's also why I figured I'd ask first

  • The image is kind of needlessly inflammatory, I'm an anarchist on lemmy and none of these apply to me.

I will grant that there's certainly a lot of anarchists that are a little too eager to get bloodthirsty about russians and get dogmatic about other leftists particularly on lemmy.

That said I don't think reproducing that type of behavior in the opposite direction is helpful either.

I will tap the rule 3 sign on this one, and ask you to please remove the image.
