  • "And if you don't like what I'm saying, you can leave the room. Of course, there goes your rank, there goes your future, but you just feel nice and loose, OK, because we're all on the same team. And I was told that, sir, you won't hear -- you won't hear a murmur in the room. I said, we got to loosen these guys up a little bit. So you just have a good time."

  • Terrible idea. "The Republicans are proposing that we ignore the Constitution, so the Dems should too."

There's a time when tit-for-tat is valid and necessary (e.g., gerrymandering blue states to keep up with red state shenanigans). This is not one of those times.

  • This was the logical and inevitable consequence of conservative attacks on female autonomy. And most people either don't care, or actively support it.

  • Excellent points. The question is: Even if a deal COULD be reached, is there any way for the Dems to force the GOP to comply with the terms they agree to?

  • They're not ALL because of the Kimmel fiasco. The article clarifies that the "1.7 million was 436% above a subscriber loss that’s typical for the same period."

Still, excellent proof that boycotting works, and that if we can appeal to corporate greed, we can force them to do the right thing.

  • Absolutely no one could have seen this coming. There was no one saying that this would happen. Absolutely no one.

  • In Texas. Of course.

  • Bullshit

  • Will it? Even if they DO release the files (a big "if"), the right is too occupied with Charlie Kirk to care. Actually, if they think that the files would come out eventually anyway, this would arguably be an ideal time to drop them.

  • And then there are all the young people who are welcoming fascism and the climate crisis with open arms. In the US election, 43% of 18-24 year olds voted for fascism and the destruction of our environment, up from 31% in 2020.

  • I can't wait for this to take off amongst the rank-and-file.

  • It's definitely opportunistic backpedalling, but it's a good sign of sorts: We've proven that, if we can punish them financially, they'll do the right thing. For the wrong reasons, obviously, but in these times, I'll take what we can get.

  • I can't wait to see the meltdown on Truth Social.

(By the way, don't give that cesspool any traffic. Use https://www.trumpstruth.org/ instead.)

  • But can I remotely control it with my phone? You know, because when I'm at work, I might want to remotely open the door.
