Mostly harmless

  • Surely there wouldn't any astroturfing be going on here, would there?

  • Not a huge one. The thing is, they can't move their navy to the Black Sea so they're limited to what they already have there. Of those ships they have lost quite a few, but outside the Black Sea that l they still have a substantial navy.

  • Renewables being unable to do base load is just a myth that has been debunked countless times.

  • Eventually I ended up with a PDF that Preview claimed is larger than the entire universe

Printer's out of toner. Can you fax it to me?

  • The Democrats certainly have their share of the blame to bear. They never did anything to really oppose them fundamentally. To this day they'd rather make a deal with the Republicans (where they are always on the losing end) than do anything that might be seen as promoting progressive causes in the US.

  • Have you tried sacrificing a goat?

  • As Chairman Mao used to say: punish one, educate 100. Same mindset.

  • All modern cars are privacy nightmares. But putting spyware in their export cars world be a very dumb move by the Chinese because there's no way they wouldn't get caught.

  • They will. Once battery supply is sorted out, EVs will be cheaper to buy than ICE cars.

  • A system where only the rich have cars and everybody else gets around with good public transport is certainly suboptimal. But it's still far better than being completely choked with cars like many other Asian cities.

  • But don't worry, they're "too big to fail". They'll get bailout after bailout until they can stand on their own again after a transition made far more painful by their foot dragging. So in the end it's the Japanese tax payer that will foot the bill.

  • Hydrogen cars have limited performance, are overly complex and there's no infrastructure. For an average consumer they make zero sense

  • The only way forward is to reduce our dependency on fossil fuels. This is not only good for the environment but also helps to make the autocrats in the oil producing countries less powerful.

  • It's a shame. They make nice cars. But in the coming bloodbath, they won't be among the few left standing.

  • Fortunately not

  • They'll put him on trial for some bogus charges and throw him in jail. Just standard procedure.

  • How did that numpty ever end up in the Academy of Science in the first place?

  • Even Hitler and Stalin didn't use chemical warfare because they knew the repercussions. But Putin is just too far gone at this point to see any reason.

  • I really always wonder how these people manage to survive. Even breathing must be an intellectual drain for them.
