    • Deus Ex - this game will last forever, especially with mods (like my Randomizer mod lol)
    • StarCraft 2 - I just love watching the esports, and with no other esport games available I guess this would be pretty huge
    • The 7th Guest - this is a bad pick but I'm obsessed with the game
    • Doom - I mean, come on, obviously
    • maybe some kind of builder game, I'm not into any currently but someone else said Factorio and that sounds like a good pick as a game you can keep playing forever, or maybe Stardew Valley or something accessible like that so everyone can play forever, or OpenRCT2
  • I didn't expect to see ZAMN here lol, it's a great game though

  • My quote is from what they said about the panel with the built-in screen, so I guess there's no power connection from the Steam Machine to the front panel

  • e-ink looks so cool lol

    LCD - bright, battery killer.

Are these actually going to be battery powered? I guess they could have a USB cable to just plug into the Steam Machine around the side to the back, or even run it underneath if it has tall enough feet?

  • Better support of the Threadiverse would be big, groups are just better than hashtags

  • would it still work if you remove the battery? that'd be safer

  • The only ones with the power to ban you completely are the lemmy.zip admins.

and then you can just make a new Lemmy account on a different instance

  • if a client side action (clearing cache) affects the issue, then it's not related to the ActivityPub protocol

  • lemmy.world is the biggest in the Threadiverse by FAR, as long as we aren't suggesting that instance then it's fine

piefed.zip (the one Blaze suggested) is a drop in the bucket of the Threadiverse population, it's relatively small

  • I think the main alternative to Misskey is its fork, Sharkey? I'm not personally familiar with them though

I think misskey.io is the flagship instance for Misskey so they would not switch since it's their own software? other instances might

  • I think advertising a single instance makes it less confusing for the Reddit users, if you give them a link to make them choose then they get analysis paralysis

  • yea, the Threadiverse probably gets a relatively high number of requests since the upvotes/downvotes are also requests

but everything seems to be working fine over here

  • if all the people who said this actually went on Lemmy/PieFed and started leaving comments on posts, they would have nothing left to complain about

  • yea but Misskey seems popular, even just misskey.io is huge, this would be a big loss for the Fediverse

    https://fedidb.com/software/misskey?stats=1

I think the active user counts are being misreported too

misskey.io has 142 million statues/posts, way more than lemmy.world with 577k posts, it's natural to have more microblog posts than threadiverse posts but 246x as many is a lot, idk if the lemmy.world number includes comments

  • I agree, however we are currently shrinking not growing

  • People are so stubborn that they're still using Twitter lol. It'll be many years before anything overtakes Reddit, I just hope it's decentralized
