  • And what do you do if the Trump government starts attacking people?

Up in Canada, some of us are now being forced to have serious discussions about the nonzero chance that America becomes hostile to us. When the world is already more or less entering a global conflict stage thanks to Russia, Making jokes about "acquiring" countries like us, Denmark's Greenland, Panama Canal, etc. is all about as funny as a heart attack.

  • remember how Antifa was treated by the trump administration?

they'll straight up open fire this time.

  • I wager there's a drunk president with his finger over the button incident by age 80. if he isnt dead. (in this case its dementia not drunk)

He is mentally cooked, and the stress of actually having to do the job he's been yapping about for 4 years in his advanged age, will accelerate the dementia.

  • "I’m ok. My kids will be ok. My wife will be ok. My family, friends, and dogs will be ok. If not? I’ll worry about it then."

I tried to tell myself that, and then Fascist deepthroaters started getting really excited about "acquiring" my country after it was economically eviscerated.

  • I would have said they tried to stop one and turned a blind eye to the other (Russia, and Israel)

but I dont really think anyone in power truly gave a fuck about stopping Russia either, it was clear from the getgo that the plan was not to help Ukraine win, just make sure they dont lose.

  • oh, I agree.

  • havent built a new PC since 2019 but when I did, I specifically picked AMD because of the Specter problem that existed at the time. havent looked back since.

  • Until the Democrats learn to stop trying to go high when the bar has already been stapled to the floor, they will never win an election again.

voters aren't swayed by morals, "presidential" energy, or formality, they're swayed by fucking podcasts...

  • I was about to get extremely upset, and then I remembered I haven't used intel since 2012.

  • No one is allowed to become famous in Russia anymore, whenever someone's "brand" grows. as a figure other than the tZar. that person is very quickly dissapeared or unalived.

look at both Prigozhyn and Navalny. as examples, The objective here is clear, they are trying to prevent figureheads from acheiving the support necessary to organize a revolution. Russia has an entire "army" of militarized and secret police who's basically only got one real job, on the side they beat protesters and such, but their real job is to figuratively and literally hold a gun to the head of the army. to terrorize and intimidate the people in the military and their families, so they have no question or thought about disobeying what the boss says.

in the 90s and 2000s they were much less discrete about it, there would be cases of literal mafia goons driving into army bases, being let in, and the army base would just get robbed and people beaten up and sometimes taken, because the people in the army were scared to death of the people the goons worked for. The Mafia and The State are the same thing in Russia.

  • I hope you guys can fix your issues, so we can feel like we can trust you again, but until then we have to do what’s right for ourselves.

In before the whining about National security starts again.

I dont get it. They say they dont want to pay others bills anymore, but when they start making moves to detatch themselves from the US (the only way to provide for themselves without leeching off the US is to detatch...). they cry about their national security, which is just another word for their hegemony.

America doesn't want allies, America wants an empire of subservient vassal states who do nothing but buy their goods and services, and provide them raw materials and clients. this is not the behaivor of an ally, this is the behaivor of a hostile force. its just a shame that we're dealing with multiple of those in the world at the same time. (Russia, China)

  • I just wish yall decided to have your meltdown -before- Russia turned fascist, got bold, and decided to start shooting wars.

Europe is asleep at the wheel, disarmed themselves a decade ago and are now playing catchup and sitting on their hands with a wait and see attitude. Its a very "Adults have left the room" feeling. New adults are going to have to step up.

  • quite the opposite.

but I've been watching their actions for the last 10 years. And it's clear to me that most of Europe has not even been remotely taking this seriously. Militarily Russia will obviously lose, but an unthinkable amount of people will still die.

World War III is already in it's pre-game show phase. and Quisling governments are already trying to take hold of European countries before the drop of the ball/puck/etc

  • the institutions dont care.

they didnt care about procedure, norms, laws, or prosecutions 3 years ago because "he might be the nominee" they didnt care a year ago because "he's the nominee" they didnt care 2 months ago because "he's the president elect" they dont care now.

whether through indifference, fear of retribution, apathy, sympathy, or conspiracy, the people involved in the "system" had no intention of doing anything to donald trump, it was more important to put him back in charge of the nuclear football than it was to prosecute him.

when the system behaves as broken as it did, you have a hard time convincing me there isn't a conspiracy to install a radical regime in the country.

  • its so comforting that he's having calls with leaders of hostile nations, and pointing guns at and telling american allies whats up.

  • a lot of it is about choice. whether its by foreign culture brainwashing/advertisement spam, or canadian products just being less popular. people tend to buy american products because the retailers are locked into supplying them. if that were to change the average consumer might have to change brands for food, pay more for luxuries, and say goodbye to some specific things for a while until replacements are found, but when national security is on the line, canadians need to learn how to go cold turkey and abandon this dependence on an obviously untrustworthy, unreliable, and hostile United States.

  • fighting a conventional war, yeah they're a joke.but they are more than capable of butchering european civilian populations, bombarding cities, and if need be, flipping the table in a rage and launching, after they panic when their conventional forces are defeated.

you dont need a sophisticated army to commit mass murder and destruction. the concern isn't about preventing european militaries from being outmanuevered, surrounded and killed. its about preventing the russians from tiny breakthroughs that result in things like Bucha or Mariupol, where a city is burned to the ground, where a town has hundreds of innocent people executed.

  • Russia is more than capable of butchering european civilian populations, that is the main concern.

everyone knows they'd get their shit rocked in conventional war, its the mass murder of civilians, bombardment of cities, and retaliatiory table flipping ragequit nuclear attacks that everyone is afraid of.

  • I think some people underestimate how spiteful Russians are.

their whole national identity, since the advent of Z-Fascism, has become "We dont care if we die, But we'll take you with us, you have far more to lose than us"
