  • American protestors? Or our protestors? Why do we care what's legal in America?

  • I had a friend say "btw, Sarah is trans and is now a woman". I'm like "who the hell is Sarah?". Turned out to be a mutual acquaintance that they had to dead name for me to identify.

  • There's got to be some grace period right? I've seen things where they start taking about someone with the new name immediately and I have no idea who they used to be.

  • Amen brother! 🙌

  • I think taking their valve core might be illegal. A small pebble added is not.

  • They need to ban these death machines from our roads! If they don't kill you on the road, they'll come into your damn house while you sleep and kill you!

  • It's not just removing the pebble. They have to find a way to re inflate the tyre.

  • You can put a small pebble inside their tyre valve and it will leak out the air from their tyres.

  • Why is the guardian conflating E motorbikes and normal legal ebikes? Overpowered ebikes are already illegal on roads. We either need to enforce it more or the commonwealth needs to ban them being imported.

  • Having a law the adults can point to helps them enforce boundaries. That's what the social media ban was meant to be about

  • Except the interest part of the mortgage payment is equivalent to rent, and the principle part is paying down the loan. Mortgage payments are often much higher than rent payments for an equivalent property. Whether it's a better deal to buy or rent depends on a number of factors and isn't as cut and dry as the op suggests.

  • Age of consent varies by country with many developed nations having it at 16. If these women were 16 or 17, the far greater crime is the trafficking and coercion.

  • It's not wasted. You get somewhere to live for the month for the rent. It's like saying all food I buy is wasted money because I'll just be hungry again next month.

  • You're assuming everyone acts rationally, which is a big assumption.

  • I find that now I listen to a much broader selection of music. If anyone recommends a band I'll listen to their album. In the past I couldn't afford to buy the albums of every band someone else liked, so I stayed in my lane (musically) with what I listened to.

  • I think it's fine to come up with alternative theories if that supports reasonable doubt. If you can think of other ways the evidence could exist, there is doubt that it happened the way the prosecutor said.

Bringing in a knife from the outside does seem a bit dodgy though. Firstly just getting it into the court would be impossible today.

  • It's legal and regulated. Seems to work fine. I don't know anyone who wants to outlaw it.

  • I remember in the 90s when you had to buy CDs and DVDs (or VHS). It was awful. You couldn't afford much so you had to be stingy in what you watched and listened to. At the time I remember dreaming of endless content options that I could try. Streaming is that dream. The fact that the shitty companies are making it worse and increasing prices doesn't mean the streaming subscription model is inherently flawed.
