There's a very large gated community right beside my apartment, that's in between me and the lake I live near. If I could walk thru the gated comm, I could reach the lake in ~15min. Instead I have to go around which is more than twice as far with lots of up-hill.
Wrap the pj pant leg tightly around your ankle, put socks over top, then pull on the next layer of pants.
Keeps the pj's in-place so they don't ride up your legs or stick out from under your regular pant legs, plus it stops the breeze blowing up your pant legs makin' your ankles/shins chilly.
Yeah; a 6 year old will play with anything they get their hands on, you sure as hell don't leave a gun where they can get it. Especially with ammunition available...
As a Canadian that first experienced not having to deal with pennies during a visit to Australia, then had Canada follow up with removing our own pennies; I absolutely love this change. Far less bulky coins to carry around/manage, which is so much nicer for both the consumer and cashiers.
Now we just need to include taxes on the sticker price so you can actually add up prices reasonably as you shop, and not be surprised by the added taxes that's a PITA to calculate as you go. Australia, you grab 5 items that each say '$5' on them, you pay exactly $25 at the till, no extra math involved.
Afaik, the legal mechanism behind this threat is a pre-existing law that prohibits charging different prices for people paying with SNAP vs other forms of payment. It's intended to prevent charging them extra, but it's written in such a way that you can't give discounts either.
It's bullshit and shouldn't exist, but it's not entirely new.
I feel horrible for the kids, they get forced to follow their parents mind-boggling stupidity.

Politics aside; how could you possibly think moving your family to a country that's actively at war with its immediate neighbor, and struggling to find bodies to throw on the front lines, is even remotely a good idea.
It touches on the fact that Derek Huffman ended up sent to the front lines in the war against Ukraine, and for a while there were rumors he'd died there.
I would genuinely be more surprised to hear they were left to live peacefully.
