Contrary point of view here. I'm not vegan, not even vegetarian, but reduced my animal produce consumption a lot (not that I consumed much anyway) and am always looking for further alternatives that are possible within my personal circumstances. However, what I've seen on Lemmy (and other social media, such as Reddit) regarding vegans, was highly militant and toxic people who spew nonsense and hostility towards anyone who is not vegan. Generally what you'd describe as veganazi or whatever. Seeing things like that definitely does not cause me wanting to join or even lurk such communities and is really just confirming the stereotypes being shared by certain trolls.
Then an Hexbear admin unilaterally decided to defederate from jlai.lu claiming it had "reactionary" users and "no effort was made to address this" (no jlai.lu admin was contacted nor prompted about the existence of such users).
This is funny because it sort of mimics Russian, Chinese or North Korean politics to a degree as well. Everyone's authoritarian, fascists, Nazis - except for them, the beacon of democracy, freedom, and values.
Of course the members of an extremist echochamber tend to usually be friendly towards each other. Makes it even more amusing when we see all hell breaking lose and the masks coming off.
I block all .ml communities that pop up on my feed. Somewhere between 200-300 on my blocklist by now (not all exclusively from .ml of course, but most of them).
Autohide does not work with it because as soon as you move your mouse over a different menu point it closes again. Not seeing a point in having that thing constantly on screen.
Technically no, but people are really confused with terminology around electric bikes of all sorts. Fatbikes are just a bicycle with oversized tires. When we look at mountainbike tires, they typically stop at around 2.6, maybe 2.8 inches in width. Fatbikes are more around 3.8 or even more, and are typically intended for snowy areas, or if you just want the extra cushioning off road. What people nowadays cry about and describe as "fatbike" is more of an electric moped.
