  • The good news is you can join Lemmy without any knowledge of .ml at all. I just Googled Lemmy, which led me to .world and it took me a few months before I started noticing a pattern with .ml users and then found out about their....situation.

    I pretty much only still use Reddit to promote Lemmy and I just tell people to create an account on .world and just tell them it's the main instance.

    Especially now with Reddit auto bot banning you for key words, how am I supposed to know what word did it if you deleted my message and banned me?

  • I only use Reddit in a private browsing window. When they ban me I use a different browser to create a new email account. Then I reset my private browsing browser's settings to default to clear everything. Then I open another private browsing window and create a new Reddit account and I even have a browser script that automatically re-adds all my subs, which are the only thing I actually care about on Reddit, and I'm back in and using Reddit in less than 5 minutes. Account stays unbanned until I say one of the many, many things Reddit's auto-banning bots will ban you for. Can be a few weeks or a few months.

    If it was harder, I wouldn't bother. But it's pretty easy and I can be right back in as a big fuck you to Reddit. Also a fuck you to any mods that banned me from their subs cuz I'm back posting in them again.

    Sorry, I don't care to use a platform that auto-bans me for saying a few key words that in no way amount to breaking any site rules.

    Sites that auto-ban you for words that aren't slurs simply aren't worth anyone's time.

  • The first time I picked it up my hands were already large enough that it just felt normal to have each hand on the outer grips. I've been called a freak. Feared by children and scorned by adults. I was cast out of my village. Given no quarter.

    It's been a lonely life, but I yam what I yam.

    Fun Fact: Holding it that way makes it a lot easier to break the joystick since you're putting force on it from an angle. As an adult I've had to order after market joysticks with thicker sticks to replace the ones I broke as a kid. They're actually much better with way smoother movement.
