  • That's a big oof for a product like Fairphone. They dropped the ball hard too by not standing behind their fuckup and left their customers hanging. Fairphone just got off my list of potential new purchases.

  • I really think it is incompetence though.

    She touted her killing her dog as proof that she has the grit to make tough decisions in the past. She seems to equate the ability to make tough decisions with making decisions with horrible consequences because she has no understanding of true priority management. I bet she really thought she was being a "tough decision maker" when she decided to sacrifice the chance of rescue of that poor member who fell into the ocean just so her deportation flight remained on schedule. But really, it is just an absolutely shit incompetent decision.

  • She wanted something that was an easy transition from Windows without having to learn a new interface. She is competent enough to install her own OS but wants to spend what little spare time she has on the computer gaming and not troubleshooting and maintaining. So I recommended she tries a few but primarily Bazzite with KDE and she liked it.

    Heck, I'm running Fedora KDE right now but if I ever had to change I'd probably pick Bazzite too. Immutable sounds great for my purposes. I have zero intentions of messing around with my kernel.

  • Wow. I don't know if everyone understands how unbelievably fucked up that is. A person overboard is usually considered an all hands on deck, high priority search and rescue operation because of how hard it is to spot the person and how finding that person a few minutes earlier can make the difference between rescuing a person and recovering a corpse. She downright sacrificed a Coast Guardsmen's life for something that could have waited. This is beyond incompetent priority management and I can guarantee that most Coast Guard members hate her guts for it now.
