The real deal y0

  • Correct, but most people also use a lot of latent power ( fridge, icebox, heat pump, air circulation, .. ) but yes, not as much as being generated sometimes.I understand that a lot of people ( in germany, netherlands and belgium ) install a battery to store that power, or use automation to limit the generated power to match the used power. You can do this with a smart meter, p1 cable and home assistant.Personally, my one panel of 440W is more than enough. At average it generates enough to cover my usage at home ( when sunny ) and my usage when not home ( when cloudy ). And imo, every watt i generate is a watt im not paying for :')

Doesnt take away i believe that injecting power into the grid should cost you something, but it should be peanuts ( 0.001c per kW or something )

  • In 2008? More than you'd think.

  • It is not, its been a thing since circa 2008

  • The limitations isnt in the lpddr5x ram, but in the sodimm interface.

  • Iirc this was due to the design of the chip. Framework said the bandwidth needed for the strix halo is waaaaaaayyyyy faster than the bandwidth of the sodimms that laptops have.Hence they made the desktop, only thing they could think of doing with those classes of apu's

  • The problem is they are using ubuntu 24.04 which runs on an older kernel by default. Im a mainline user so unsure which kernel ubuntu uses now but i think its 6.4 which lacks a lot of intel driver fixes and support for battlemage. I cant blame them for not knowing or specifying, the only person knowledgeable for this is wendel and his team (level1techs).Outside of mainline, ubuntu has a 6.14 kernel build they support but you have to actively look for it in the ui.It is however, a sign for me that ltt is not suited for this and should have waited and investigated more before posting. Or maybe asked external help to verify stuff idk

  • The yoink is not needed. We have a policy to get a new laptop every 4 years. After that the laptop is all ours once formatted on site ( to make sure no company or customer details get leaked ). This is how my brother got my old dell xps, which he really needed for his educationEdit: apparently they are working on it, same with a case for the gpu to convert it into a e-gpu

  • Oh i know, and i agree. Im in talks with my boss to maybe upgrade the mainboard pre-maturely to the latest. Im using the lower costs as an argument haha

  • The other laptops arent finished yet. Framework is super expensive , even compared to other gaming laptops.I think its worth it, but thats not the opinion of a lot of casual people. And had i not gotten one via my job, i would not have gotten a framework 16 because of the price

  • Youre right, but if you buy something and taxes arent paid, or paperwork isnt done right, you will be paying for it on delivery. The us is like that from what ive read on the case of tarrifs.Tbh, their whole sales tax and extra costs system is fucked and its the reason i dont order from the us or uk anyway. To much shit to deal with

  • Youre thinking of sleeping beauty, not snow white

  • Oh, i get one of the cardboard boxes the shops let you take then haha. That and i have 3, reusable bags in the car and a collapsable plastic box to put my shoppings into xD

  • And this is why bags are no longer free where i live and cost up to 40c a piece. People quickly stopped using them hahaThe inconvenience of the price became larger than always having a reusable bag in the car or bike hehe

  • Wanna bet its ai scrappers? Im part of multiple communities who have all been under serious ai scrapper bot 'attacks'. We are talking millions and millions of requests in minutes by the bots. Its complete bonkers what those fucking bots are doing

  • The anti batman plan involves joker actually. His weakpoint is his parents and him being alone. The joker is, in batman's eyes, the source of both. He says that to beat him you need to press the parents button, which makes him erratic and easy to predict heheAdd a joker to the mix and chef's kiss

  • Youre forgetting that time they did a scrapyard war which was sponsered by dbrand, in which somebody was constantly in view, playing on a switch with a dbrand skin.

  • Except you technically can. Windows 11 registry allows for installation without secure boot and its called after the upgrade process, thats what things like rufus patch to allow it.Now idk if secure boot has to be enabled for windows 10 to consider it upgrade ready, but its technically all in there
