  • Do you have a torrent client installed? Do you know how to download using a torrent client? If you don't have one yet then I can recommend qBitTorrent. It's a well developed torrent client.

I can recommend watching some YouTube video on how torrenting works. It's fairly straight forward. You basically download a small .torrent file (or use a magnet:url.

A magnet is the same as a torrent but there is nothing to download first. Just add the magnet address to your torrent client.

In the torrent client you then get a window that asks you where to place the downloaded file and also a few other tweaks you can do. Usually you only need to press OK and the download starts.

The hard part in sailing the high seas is finding good websites with the content you are looking for. Every torrent also needs another person to upload the file. If you have no one to download from then you will not get your file.

It is common courtesy to keep the torrent client running even after reaching 100%. This will help others download the file from you. This is the core feature of torrents. Everyone that downloads also helps with sharing the file. That's how we keep spreading the data. As long as there is 1 person uploading, then the torrent will be alive.

Please note, a torrent can have 0 people sharing (Seeders) for the moment but might become active several hours later once another person turn on their computer and start sharing the file again.

I hope I didn't ramble too much and you got something out of it. Best of luck!

  • There is always something to critique, huh? I think it's positive that he has changed his stance regarding LGBTQ+ and even made a children's song spreading the message that love is love. We need more inclusion, acceptance and tolerance in this society.

If Snoop is smart enough to spread a positive message and earn money at the same time, then good for him. At least he is trying to spread positivity to the world.

  • How would a war keep Trump in office? The US doesn't have any laws that will stop elections during war time. Trump think that they do, because he told Zelensky that, and Ukraine has laws preventing an election during war.

  • Lmao we're in a shit posting community. I don't think you need to take that person seriously. I take it as a joke

  • I think Linux Mint would be a good first distro.

I recently learned about a project called Operese. It is a Windows to Linux migration tool that also sets up Kubuntu. Kubuntu is Ubuntu with the KDE desktop environment instead of the GNOME desktop environment. I don't know how well that tool works since I never tried it but it looks promising.

There is also a new project called Winboat that is meant to make it easier to install and use Windows software such as Adobe Photoshop

  • The last time must have been when Valheim released. That shit got me hooked. Now I am waiting for the Deep North biome to finish development before I play it again.

Now that I think about it the last time was when Schedule 1 released.

  • Isn't that because of BTRFS? I also use Snapshots on my Arch system

  • If you can't remember one or two commands then you are in fact stupid. With that said, Linux is for everyone.

There are distros that have auto updates as a feature they ship (Linux Mint comes to mind). There are distros that are basically impossible to break and there are distros where you are responsible for building your own system and keeping it functioning. It all depends on your own needs. Linux gives you the freedom to choose and there are more than one way to do things.

  • If you're too stupid to remember one or two commands there are GUI applications available where you can click "a button" to update your system.

Or make an alias with the update command and name it "update". This works on every distro.

  • I watched that rant on YouTube this morning. I can recommend everyone to see it if you haven't already.

  • I have never seen a cat beg another cat for food. I have seen plenty of cats beg humans for food. I am pretty sure cats are smart enough to realize we are not cats. For one, we have hands we can use to open doors and give pets

  • This is the way. I left the absuive relationship with Microsoft a few months after the Steam Deck got released. Valve proved to me that Linux can do gaming well now and that GNOME is not the only desktop environment to choose from.

  • Sure, they share some opinions, but I see no evidence that he's getting paid to be a vaccine sceptic. I can only assume that's what he truly believes.

  • Do you have anything to support that SD is taking bribes or are willing to take bribes? Or that they have a close relationship with tech companies? Personally I wouldn't compare SD to the MAGA movement. Maybe AfS, but not SD.

  • Depends on the government. I don't think that shit would fly in the Swedish government.

  • When did KDE Plasma break itself last time? I never had any breaking issues on Plasma 5 or 6 using Arch.

  • The problem has originated because he changed the license resulting in older versions being the only way to ship duckstation.

    Edit: lisence to license
