Are you not familiar with how trans rights are being eroded away at this very point we are discussing? Reactionaries are constantly prattling on about how trans people under the age of 18 should be unable to make choices about their bodies and their lives, and are actively legislating to continually raise that age. This isn't even to mention how often the parents of queer people are often actively hostile their children, and raising the age of majority only serves to prolong their suffering. And can you not put yourself back in your own shoes when you were 18? I can't imagine how I could have even gone on living if I was forced to be under the legal power of my parents in my 20s...
I wholeheartedly disagree with the suggestion that the age of majority should be raised to 21 or 25 (to be clear, I don't want it to be lowered either). It's hard enough being a young adult, and not even having full legal capacity to make choices for yourself as a 19-25 year old is a catastrophically harmful idea, especially so for queer people.

History is written by the victor. Before V(egan)WII, this site was far from unified in the position that veganism is something we should all strive for. Mind you, most of the site is still not vegan, but we won the ideological battle and it's the Hexbear "party line" if you will, for whatever that's worth (not much).
Makes sense. I was the MFer that started that posting war over veganism (the second one) with a rage bait post 4-ish years ago and somehow I managed to not get banned. The quota thing explains It, good thing I didn't push my luck and start another struggle session about antinatalism a little while later. SURELY I would have been banned if I did that 😁
It's sounds like they are implying a specific element that the intended reader of the comment should know, but I can't, for the life of me, figure out what they mean by that. Chinese culture, from my very limited understanding of it as a very westernized ABC, certainly isn't lacking in any fundamental aspect that I could even conceive an ignorant and racist person believing. Surely, even the most chavanistic Europeans of centuries past could see the incredible culture of one of the world's oldest civilizations. Is this person somehow even more ignorant than them? Incredible
The unspoken truth is this; they realize, to some degree, that they are the beneficiaries of imperialism, and so their ideology reflects this willful ignorance to the nature of the current world order and socialism's place in it. They only support socialism domestically (nominally) in the first place because they perceive some personal benefit.
Not a man, but I feel you. The person who did the thing to me was a woman, which instantly makes some ignorant people think it's no big deal, or somehow less serious than if it were a man. In reality, it was for me, a quite violent and immediately traumatizing thing, despite how some idiots think women are incapable of doing such things... I sympathize with you tremendously, and I'm sorry how your experiences have been disregarded and minimized by some ignorant people <3
