"Conservatism consists of exactly one proposition, to wit: There must be in-groups whom the law protects but does not bind, alongside out-groups whom the law binds but does not protect."
It's about oppression. Never about the rule of law but only about using the law to punish people they don't like.
The history of our country has shown that so long as people are involved, corruption can occur. There is no test that can be written so sanely that only "the right people" pass.
As someone who has a garden and has successfully grown garlic from cut ends of store bulbs...
It's not worth the labor.
I garden, yes, but the economy of scales of buying at the grocery store is much lower than growing your own vegetables. You garden because you want to enjoy vegetables that are either heirloom or you want the freshness.
Between the labor, watering, fertilizing, maintaining, etc. it's simply cheaper to buy at the store.
Very much agree. She is chill af and explains her thoughts rationally. The first time I saw her video on Target, it felt a bit off but the more I listened the more I related to what she was saying.
Yeah this is one of those statements that's easy for the powerful make not realizing the effort it takes for normal people to do something.
I'm sure supreme court justices have some level of security but doubt that even federal appellate judges do. They are often far more influential than SCOTUS.
The fact that going against a political entity requires security should give us all pause for concern.
Would you mind sharing your automation yaml for the garden lights? I'd love to do more with Bluetooth beacons but don't know enough about how they work to do anything with them.
The only way they can bifurcate Trump from MAGA is if they have an equally "charismatic" strongman that can take his place. It would especially help if he's young.
I'm agree with the consequence but not the cause. Jack Welsh figured out the cheat code to increase short term stock prices by laying off people, regardless of their actual role or value to the company.
Since then, every company has done it whenever they need a quick boost in numbers.
Because conservatives don't care about fair reporting. They want their reporting.
There's a saying: facts have a liberal bias.
If you really want to get into the history, there is a Behind the Bastards episode where they talking about how during the Nixon scandal, conservatives saw that once the public was made aware of the link between Nixon and the thieves, the country turned on them.
They noticed that the facts were assumed to be true. That's why they started attacking power journalists like Walter Cronkite because their names were associated with facts.
After Nixon, conservatives attacked the Fairness Doctrine rule. And Fox News was born.
That's why the judge in the NY case was such a pussy.
Absolutely nowhere in the Constitution bars a sitting president from serving his term from prison. No federal law bars a state from holding a sitting president in prison to serve his prison sentence.
His only constitutional requirement is to be able to execute duties of the office. If his Cabinet feels like his prison sentence would preclude that, well there is an amendment to fix that.
Honestly Vance should have pushed this issue to force himself as acting president.
