  • If they had the WH, Who would stop them?

  • Not a meaningful number. Accelerationists are just a spook libs on lemmy use so they can avoid engaging with the left by just accusing them of secretly wanting republicans to win.

  • 62% in favor of socialism, 34% in favor of communism, 4% in favor of liberalism/fascism?

  • Student deaths are included in the protestor deaths.

The brief summery is entirely consistent with those images, every image of casualties we can see are in the surrounding streets and not the square, there is no images of tanks and streets covered in gore, and the number of corpses we see are in the dozens, not tens of thousands, which is more consistent with the claims of 1-300 dead.

  • I've only had good experiences with spirit and frontier. The existence of discount airlines decreases what the others can charge.

  • You can see the square in the background of the video, there's just rows of bicycles.

The whole "all the protesters were herded into the square, machine gunned, then homoginized via tank and washed down a drain" is a fabrication.

What actually happened, you can look up the gorey pictures and everything: Protestor groups 1-2 blocks away from the square lynch multiple cops, burning the bodies. Cops proceeded to drive around shooting civilians 1-2 blocks away from the square. Multiple police trucks end up burned in the surrounding streets, its unclear whether they were killing people mostly at random or entirely at random.

  • Too lazy, measure mass of 4 hazelnuts to get an average, then weigh them all.

  • I only recognize the true president of America, Juan Guiado

  • Yes? You arrange the fastest cars at the front and the slowest cars at the back, and the whole blob of traffic spreads out.

  • But they also want fewer legal immigrants. Remember the republican rep talking about how she loves watching videos of immigrants being dragged out of their immigration court cases by ICE? Those were people following the process.

  • If people pass quickly, then get out of the left lane, nobody needs to brake and start a compression wave

  • EMS hate motorcycles and decorative throw rugs.

  • What work was that?

  • Russia's calculus to invade Ukraine was based off the assumption that they could win in a few days if they invaded, and if they didn't invade, they would have a hostile, NATO-backed state on their border.

The first has proven hilariously wrong, and the second is only possible if Ukraine remains a buffer.

Given that Russia was selling 10y bonds at 17% and wages were skyrocketing due to the war industry tightening the labor market, I'm genuinely quite curious what the local political ramifications will be when Putin doesn't have a war to distract everyone, his fellow billionaires want to cut wages, and loans start to come due.

  • Oh, I didn't know about the Huntsville connection.

  • OK, go to Ukraine and punish Russia. Maybe in another decade and another million dead, the two countries will be able to stop sending their sons to die for some billionaire or another. I'm sure it will all have been worth it.

  • Oh, I'm no longer there, just spent a few months there. Thinking about going back in a few months though.

It was nice, but much harder to make any kind of connection with the locals when you speak almost no Japanese. Lots of friendly foreigners though.

  • Agree to Russia's offer that would have Ukraine take back a fraction of its lost territory while Russia keeps the Russian-speaking territory. Maybe even require each state hold a UN-monitored referendum on who to join.

Its awful if you care about states, but immediate peace is the best option for the people actually living there.

  • Batteries are heavy, you're looking at .5-1 tons of Li-ion batteries. A number of companies are doing battery swap though it doesn't seem to be catching on.

If mass production of solid cell batteries works, that could be lowered to 5 40 lb batteries.
