I've been building up my collection by browsing my local Bullmoose (idk how widespread that store is) and other places that sell CDs. I've got a disk reader a friend gave me to rip them.
Oh do you have any recommendations on how to do that? I've just been using Syncthing which works fine, but I'm curious if you have better ways of doing it
Thank you for the "explain it to me like I am 5" answer. I may be college educated, but that is in history. I am still basically elementary level with my math lmao
I am so glad I swapped to downloading my music rather than streaming. Fuck Spotify and every other streaming service. Owning my music is more important to me than any level of "convenience" those services pretend to offer
We have what we have through protest and direct action. The 8 hour day and other worker's rights were won by unions fighting back. Votes don't matter till the people you voted for are afraid. Cut out the middleman and we don't have to keep fighting for our rights.
This is also an anarchist community, but one specifically memes. So it would be better placed in the non-meme anarchist community. Also like others said, anarchists are a lot less likely to take it down
No one WANTS to play that game. I get it can be frustrating to deal with, but you also need to understand how frustrating it is for your wife. Maybe talk about what both of you should do when the need to play the game arises so its less stressful for both of you.
Keep telling me how my ADHD and autism is environmental. That insinuates that a change in environment and conditions would fix my disabilities. Keep fucking telling me that if I just went out and touched grass my autism and ADHD would go away. Keep telling me, someone with autism and ADHD that I am the ableist one for calling you out on your bullshit. If I could cure my disability I would. Fuck off
Autism and ADHD are not mental illnesses, they're learning disabilities (technically ADHD is classified as an OHI, but that's not the point). Depression, BPD, Schizophrenia, and anxiety are mental illnesses. And while yes, chronic online usage may negatively affect some of the illnesses, they are not caused by online use and can not be transmitted over the internet. Online use does not cause or worsen disabilities.
Everyone should cut back on online usage. But not because of some ableist rhetoric from someone misunderstanding psychiatric advice, as well as someone who doesn't know the difference between a disability and a mental illness. You are comparing apples to oranges.
