  • Prolonged wars in the middle east aren't popular either as we only very recently ended two of them, but this administration has no imagination and is just copying what W Bush did.

I agree it has already been decided as we're seeing the very same manufactured consent in the media as we did before Iraq and Afghanistan, and Democrats are always willing to jump on board with whatever the Republicans want, so there isn't really anyone around to stop it from happening.

  • Probably a lot more than you'd think.

  • How about this tidbit from the article you linked in the OP? I'm guessing you didn't actually read any of it past the headline because it certainly doesn't say what you seem to think it does. What an intellectually lazy thing to do.

In 2018, the World Health Organization recognized gaming disorder as a mental health condition that intrudes detrimentally into an addicted gamer’s sleep, work, education and ability to foster and maintain relationships in real life, while also impacting memory, attention span and stress management.

    SOCIAL MEDIA

Social media addiction hasn’t been officially recognized, Falcione said, “but it’s pretty clear – at least within the literature – that it seems to be transposable to the extent that all the criteria for gaming disorder also apply to a social media or smartphone addiction.”

There are three main criteria, she explained. The first is that the person feels a need to use that media more and more, which can build a tolerance similar to that experienced by drug addicts. Second, she continues, “there’s a salience that it becomes the most prominent thing in your life — it’s what you think about the most, it’s what you want to do the most, and even if you’re not on your phone, you’re thinking about it, craving it and choosing it over other activities that may need your attention.” The third criteria is that its use creates internal conflict or turmoil as it interferes with relationships or obligations to work or school.

“For teens and college students, when you see those grades drop, that’s a big signal that the media use is actually becoming detrimental,” Falcione said.

  • You mean like OP, who's clearly having a temper tantrum calling people "fucking idiots" and telling them they need to "leave" if they don't agree with them, all the while demanding sources from everyone while providing none of their own other than a single editorial written by a college student?

  • Have you cited a single thing anywhere in this entire post?

  • Pittman also argued that the defense lawyers would be outraged if prosecutors were to wear shirts that showed pro-ICE or pro-Trump imagery in front of a jury.

Or even worse, imagine the outrage if people were being forced to defend themselves against terrorism charges for attending a protest against a lawless organization doing coordinated attacks on innocent Americans.

  • Its more playing to your enemy's weakness as they consider police and military to be god-like heroes, but now even they are being mistreated along with the rest of us.

  • There's a separate Power On Hours up in the information field at the top showing 30020 hours (3.5 years). Maybe CrystalDisk is having trouble interpreting the SMART data.

  • Yeah it has been dogshit for years which is why Printables and Makerworld are so popular.

  • Yes I've experienced cops lying in court numerous times along with prosecutors just blatantly making things up. Perjury may be a crime but its rarely enforced especially not against agents of the state.

  • I like how the second article's main photo is of a boomer and Gen Zer standing in front of an RV while the article talks about things Gen Z wastes money on.

  • "D-FENS!"

  • There may have been a difference at one point before WD realized what people were commonly using these for, but I was previously using 5 shucked Elements and one MyBook (all 8TB) bought between 2018 and 2024 and they were all the same white label drives.

  • I havent seen inside a MyPassport but the MyBook is just a standard 3.5" SATA drive with a USB controller attached. For the smaller form factor, I'd imagine they're more integrated and not able to be shucked which means it could, in theory, be less reliable if the control board broke, but this is just speculation and the odds of that happening are probably pretty low.

  • "The only thing we're interested in is a free and independent Alberta, not statehood," Rath said.

The only way to be free and independent is by your own hand not by gargling the balls of the fascist regime to the south nor by voting your way into it. These people are fucking morons. Do they expect Canada to just let them walk away or that the US will respect their 'independence' when they aren't self sustaining and don't have a standing army?

  • Agreed. I think moving the eyes or attaching the ears differently would make the ears look less like horns. They're currently connecting right where the cutouts for the eyes are which makes them look more horn-like.

  • What a shitty woman this is. Looking at the map shows that this is a single road maybe 100 yards long with multiple alternative roads all around and yet she wants to act like a child over what might be a whole minute long detour if it were closed.

  • No, not since it got sucked in by Uranus

  • STSA feels like a blend of Lower Decks and Discovery to me. I also had issues with Discovery (though it got better after the time jump) but have been enjoying Academy each week.
