Hi, I’m Cleo! (he/they) I talk mostly about games and politics. My DMs are always open to chat! :)

  • This is possibly not a real thing that happened.

Of all the news agencies I looked into that tried to verify this story, they all came up empty handed. Even snipes did a dive in on it and found nothing

So yeah look at all the comments posted here jumping to conclusions.

  • The CHIPS act passed in the US does help with this. Instead of reinventing the wheel, we’re trying to move some of their manufacturing over here. Which is desirable anyways because it puts them beyond Chinas reach.

Still that process will take a decade so no luck anytime soon

  • It’s because Nvidia is an American company and also because they make final stage products. American companies right now are all overinflated and almost none of the stocks are worth what they’re at because of foreign trading influence.

As much as people whine about inflation here, the US didn’t get hit as bad as many other countries and we recovered quickly which means that there is a lot of incentive for other countries to invest here. They pick our top movers, they invest in those. What you’re seeing is people bandwagoning onto certain stocks because the consistent gains create more consistent gains for them.

The other part is that yes, companies who make products at the end stage tend to be worth a lot more than people trading more fundamental resources or parts. This is true of almost every industry except oil.

  • I think I’d kill myself if I had to listen to NPR’s Up First without the jingle. I think that jingle keeps me sane.

  • I really thought it would be obvious that this is the gen Z form of a joke lol.

I feel like I just got the equivalent of telling your mom a joke only to receive a serious response about life wisdom. The only cure for apathy in the awful times is humor.

  • Why are you reading Nazi picture books? very sus

  • Why did you notice? sus

  • The baboons have been oddly quiet since you asked this

  • What you mean: I want to see the statements and actions surrounding the mishandling of classified documents

  • It’s less like choosing who to swipe on tinder and more like your “type” it seems. The egg is selecting but it’s doing it ahead of time.

  • It’s not suspicious really. They apparently don’t operate in Florida due to those ID laws. It’s more so just that the states have targeted PornHub specifically for their bans to start with and since PH is owned by a conglomerate of sites similar to them, it’s affected many of those sites. Smaller sites remain unaffected often times.

  • Not to be that guy but 50,000 people is still a lot. Percentages are great because if they’re very low we tend to like that but it doesn’t change the absolute number.

The real comparison isn’t how safe the vaccine is, its how safe the vaccine is compared to getting the disease it’s preventing. Every medical product is not about zero harm or low harm, it’s about harm reduction. If medical therapies didn’t cause harm, we wouldn’t have chemo treatments and we would be much worse at treating cancers.

  • I agree 100%, parrying is the way to go with combat like this though I wish for a bit more of a balance between parrying and other things that this game doesn’t quite hit. Still when it works, it works well.

As for difficulty it’s not that I find the enemies easy per se, it’s that I find the game loop easy and kind of dull. Those problems I don’t expect a harder difficulty to fix. For instance I fought Owl for the second time and the tedium of that with his high damage convinced me pretty well that the difficulty wasn’t the issue. Enemies in this game are already extremely deadly so harder must be like playing a no hit run right? Lol

  • And yet TP Link is consistently a very well rated brand both for software and for hardware. I’m currently looking for a WiFi 6e/7 router and most sources agree they’re the best. Both Amazon reviews and trusted sources like rtings say this.

Basically I hear your point but the US does need to have a good reason to ban these because otherwise they seem to just be taking away good hardware from people

  • Surely it blocks snipping tools new recording feature on windows 11 though right?

  • Doesn’t a threat have to be credible? As in you can make a threat if you’d like to but it has to actually be a legitimate threat. This isn’t that.

Realistically unless someone says this phrase and has google searches of the CEOs home address, this isn’t a credible threat at all.

  • Tariffs will not significantly increase domestic investment. The US is at its maximum employment and that’s without deporting people. Who will even work in those factories?

Not to mention American labor means that products made here are at least double the price. So no it’s smarter to just raise your prices 20-30% than build a factory that will also have raw material costs 20-30% higher anyways.

  • Well that and not to mention that politicians abroad do the exact same thing they do in the US. I know the British for instance have a Conservative Party that have repeatedly attacked their healthcare system in order to make privatized insurance seem better.

And then the issues caused by a lack of funding get used in the US to say “SEE! This system doesn’t work!”

Which is the logical equivalent of watching your friend baking pies with not enough filling and deciding to instead pay 4x the price for a pie that you won’t even get your promised slice of. Oh and the pie you get occasionally is made with the meat of other people who were also promised a pie and paid for it.

  • I don’t think that’s true at all. If anything, the perception that body cameras make the evidence found more solid actually increases the chances that evidence will be planted.

Multiple times now we have seen that these cameras do not record continuously. They have triggers like when the cop pulls a gun or shoots but otherwise need to be manually activated. And a lot of the time the cop knows the camera and will plant evidence before pretending to “discover” it on tape.

And we’re not talking about some random stop here. If this were to be a cover up type thing, it’d be much more carefully done. I mean not finding this guy would both embarrass police to an extreme degree and also encourage other people to do this stuff.

Whatever you do, do not underestimate the fact that elites want police to keep them safe and if some random person has to take the fall so they can say they caught someone, that’s absolutely what they’ll do.
