I'd imagine the diesel acts as a solvent for the tar. In the washing machine, however, it'll readily dissolve in water, leaving the tar clinging to every surface, including the drum and any hoses or pipes. And the clothes, of course. You'd have to flush the washing machine with diesel to get rid of it.
Wouldn't that be a question of studio sound versus scene sound? The original sound is usually recorded with a boom mic, resulting in a wider dynamic range, whereas the German voiceover can be recorded in a studio, without interference and the speakers much closer to the mic.The alternative would be to give each actor a lapel mic which would then have to be edited out of the video and would also be infeasible in some situations.
Don't worry. I tried it for about 2 years and didn't quite get the hang of it. Back on Arch now. NixOS really has a steep learning curve and not nearly enough documentation.
