    There's almost certainly a reason. I can't google fu the verse but if you find it please lmk.

    I'd imagine the answer to why it's not generally accepted can be found by comparing translations. Likely it's the King James or one of the less colloquial ones being 'misinterpreted' to suggest a timeframe. But I am speculating here.

  • Former Christian here: I can confirm that no verse directly specifies a date. However Revelations folk are a special breed.

    The best one I can find is the 7000 year old earth theory.

    Basically it hinges off Genisis saying Man lives for 120 years, and if you multiply that by the amount of Jubilee years (every 50 years in Hebrew tradition) you get 6000. 4000 till Jesus, 2000, till his return, 1000 years of sabbath. Than god will remake the heavens and the earth. For a total of 7000.

    It's a bunch of conjecture that would make biblical numerologists proud.

    Regardless of your opinion on AOC, this documentary about how she got elected lays out the steps. IMO it's how AOC got elected that is the key to fixing America. Americans need to make that happen every single election. Systematic problems need more than 1 presidential term to reverse after all.

    1. Independent local grassroots electoral movement. Dedicated to getting/organizing volunteers, signature gathering, door knocking, everything from getting candidates on the ballot to winning in the election.
    2. Candidate nominations. AOC didn't sign up, her BIL or someone nominated her and the Grassroots Movement approached her to run.
    3. PRIMARIES. PRIMARIES. PRIMARIES. Target establishment DNCs who clearly have more in common with corporate lobbyists than their own constituents.
    4. Run the numbers game. Only 1/4 of their candidates won. Democrats should face a primary EVERY SINGLE ELECTION.

  • I'm from Western Canada and while our experience is very very far from the rest of NA's...(none of our shit came from Mexico) one thing that's definitely changed over the last few decades is the knowledge base of cannabis growers in general.

    There are more cannabis specific products such as nutrient blends, pest, and environmental controls. Off the shelf products you can order online that used to be custom made or end you up on a list.

    People understand pruning, topping, and branch lining. This becomes especially apparent when you compare amateur growers to intermediate and medical grade growers.

    Than there's the genetics being improved through breeding. .

    But the main thing I'm told is that a lot of weed in the USA came from outdoor grows in Mexico. Which outdoor can never, ever, compete with indoor.

    I sort of do, but not because I think AI will become a sentient overlord. IMO AI will inevitably be refined as a tool for cyber warfare and oppression.

    I feel like younger generations will be even more susceptible to malicious AI because their entire lives have a digital footprint. We think AI chatbots are manipulative now? Just wait until they can train their manipulation tactics using your baby photos and childhood memories.

    And again this would all be at the direction of a human. I don't subscribe to the idea of an AGI overlord. At the same time I do expect AIs capabilities to continue improving drastically
