  • Their justification is you’re not a participant in the community, yet you’re voting. Of course theres 0 reflection on the content coming out of their subs comm and it has no weight in the decision.

    For brigading I can understand but a couple of mods have a very low bar for it. One banned me recently because of it. Likely because two low effort post made it to all in a short window from a meat base comm. I’ve downvoted vegan post more often back in the early days and they dgaf.

  • Agreed. I was surprised at how bad it was, which was a bummer for two reasons. Firstly, it was a pretty enjoyable game at times especially with mates. Secondly, there were plenty of players that went out of their way to counter it and be decent but sadly they were the minority.

  • It’s nothing to do with W/L it’s because it fucks your team mates (and essentially everyone else, who now are devoid of a proper match) in RL. One of the many reasons I never stuck by RL was other players. People would so frequently just trash talk you when you’re learning and then fuck off out of the match, leaving you to get rolled by two players. These players would frequently be worse too. At least if you get rolled with a full team, you’ll probably learn something.

    RL and games with low team player counts I 100% understand it for. It’s a punishment for selfish players. In a match with bots less so but I guess if you’re doing bad enough to be matched with bots they probably want to to stay and learn to play.

  • Funnily enough I grew up in rural Australia, a lot of heat and experienced a couple of droughts. Probably not surprisingly my equivalent is a snowy home ideally on or at the base of a mountain. Also unsurprisingly loved my time in Germany and loved Innsbruck so much I fly around it every now and then in MS flight sim. Frequently during the trip in Germany and down through Austria/Switzerland I had a similar almost dream like feeling on the train through the mountainous areas.

    Edits: 30s and I also attributed to wanting to see places different to where we grow/know.

I feel like half of lemmy will carry on about social media being cancer, the frequent articles citing negative effects of SM on mental health and the fact that multiple social media companies are accused of propagating misinformation (Zuckerberg face sure is in lemmy a lot lately for some reason). Like Zuck has all but greenlit harassing lgbt+ people on FB and the SM ban is to stop gay kids finding a community? Please. Corporate SM is a blight and before someone says lemmy/reddit check the mod logs or the fact that lemmy only got CSAM under control relatively recently before suggesting it’s fine for kids.
