  • Literally none of this is based off what voters want.

How would the DNC know to put into elections if they aren't available during the primary?? Do they operate off of vibes and random phone polls?

  • At least he's consistent? Y'all voted for this.

  • -says man who has no idea what he's doing

  • Oooooo this is compelling.

  • Miserable. Source, almost 34

  • He can put sunglasses on for memes and shit. His sole purpose should just be pointing at current egg prices with no words spoken.

  • Well Cathy can't read, so.

  • I left Reddit because of the 3rd party app ban. The core ethos of the Fediverse was not what was appealing for me. It is a feature, to be sure, but it wasn't why I came here. I just like the Reddit format, and aside from Reddit, I don't know anywhere that aggregates content and discussion on the scale Reddit does (aside from this side of Fediverse now). If it wasn't the 3rd party applications, I definitely would be jumping ship with the current censorship, so leaving was inevitable.

With Bluesky, I just do not care about it. If Bluesky didn't exist, I wouldn't have a Mastodon account. I only had a Twitter account because my brother and friend told me in college that if I didn't make one, they would make one on my behalf to tweet about me and my daily stuff, lol. Bluesky could come out 3 hours from now and announce that it will donate all revenue to the GOP, and I'd just delete the account and be done with the format. It's purely a protest account, and I landed on Bluesky instead of Mastodon in the moment. And because I don't care about that format, I have no reason to want to migrate the account to Mastodon. And, if I somehow do come to care about that format in the future, I'd rather start completely over on Mastodon than have an old account with old stuff on it.

  • Sure. My goal isn't to be on the next Twitter, or Mastodon, or anything on short format social media. It's to make Twitter look worse by inflating Bluesky account numbers.

  • Idk why anyone argues it. I'm on it, but only because I want to support Not Twitter®. I'm there to just be user no. 1663987 who doesn't want to be on Twitter. I post a stupid thought, some sports commentary, and scroll the feed for a minute or two. If it went away tomorrow, I'd have 0 negative effects on my life in even the most miniscule way.

Like...I like it there, and people seem to want an alternative to Twitter pretty bad, but idk if Bluesky is it. But I also don't care to join Mastodon, as this kinda format isn't something I care about or take seriously, and I'd rather get information here. If I get a Mastodon account in the future, though, I'd rather not have it tied directly back to my spite posting account lol

  • I wonder if you could do it like the aggregation apps that used to exist for like...FB, Twitter, Instagram, where you can access/post from multiple accounts. My big thing is I hate having a dozen apps that do the same thing; so having an aggregator app is nice. For people who want the singular account, you could see both Bsky and Mastodon. For people like yourself, you could log in to both accounts and have separate feeds, just homed on the same app. And I imagine it'd be nicer, because Activity Pub would be the base, and it could display different UIs based on what information is being pulled, so it isn't just like a Twitter feed on FB. You could get the Lemmy view on Lemmy, Twitter view on Bsky/Mastodon, Instagram on PixelFed, etc.

  • That's weird, why would he send vaccines? Those have 5g signal receivers in it for mind control. Is he stupid?

  • It would be awfully convenient that Russians are openly speaking on what Trump does and does not owe to them without some kind of motive; whether or not it's a separate "plot" or similar one I guess is up for debate though. I would have 0 issue believing that money is flowing through Russia as well. When you have billions, there aren't too many restrictions on what you can and can't do.

  • I was worried there for a second lol.

It could also be both; Trump has ties to Russia and there have been open statements by Russian officials about Trump; specifically Patrushev saying

"The election campaign is over. To achieve success in the election, Donald Trump relied on certain forces to which he has corresponding obligations. As a responsible person, he will be obliged to fulfill them."

  • I mean, next tallest building in the world is at least a tangible object lol. FSD is 1s and 0s that they say work given very narrow parameters and weather. But yeah, completely agree

  • Fair, but I do think it is deeper. His current ties to the administration have some current implications, but even prior to that, the amount he received with govt contracts and his habit of over-promising and under-delivering make me skeptical that the upwards trajectory can largely be blamed on retail investors. His cult of personality certainly is a portion of it, but I don't think it would just be that.

I'm also just a stupid person bitching on the internet, though, so give me thoughts whatever weight you'd prefer lmao.

  • Honestly, this just showcases that other nations NEED to have some form of military self reliance. The US cannot be trusted to remain hard allies with wavering political stances and arguable Russia ties. As much as I hate larger military industrial complexes, other nations reliance on the US has aided in these companies growing ever larger and causing the current strain where countries are scrambling to establish their own products and supplies.

  • We're saying the same thing, just one more eloquently than the other (you than me lol).
