  • Boots be made for walking. You'll be hard-pressed to find a place that's not struggling with fascism nowadays, or free from patriarchal tendencies, but I assume you're in the US, in which case many countries are indeed better.

  • The license plate is her name and state? That's bad ass.

  • I don't follow. Isn't that why you're letting dogs in your vehicle in the first place? WHOSAGOODBOY

  • Ahahah! You gotta watch The Boys now

  • "Battalion of baubled barbarians" is a juicy phrase.

  • KOTOR is such an amazing game... I've replayed it recently hoping it would ruin my childhood recollection of it being god tier. It didn't, it's still an amazing game after all these years

  • "By not enforcing your patents"

You're absolutely right. From the article:

Years of stagnation and underinvestment have left its product lineup dated, while mass layoffs have gutted its development teams.

Patents would have held up this carcass for years and years, preventing anyone from actually innovating and improving on the original design, and keeping the prices bloated. Fuck patents.

It's like complaining that you got overtaken when you stopped running after the 100m line, when you're running a marathon.

  • That's mighty pedantic, my dude. I had the same thought when reading the title, that "dead after being found" does carry some implication that they were alive at the time of finding.

But according to you, thinking that the title could have been written better makes us raging assholes that need to be challenged at every turn, lest we turn this internet into some place with, god forbid, proper grammar or something...?

  • I AM GANESHA!

  • Oh yeah. On Lemmy? Chance in a million!

  • Lead gasoline for cars is gone. Lead pipes are still around.

You're concerned about the big problem that we already solved? Bro, you need to re-prioritize.

  • True, but the safe level of lead is none. This is especially true for children.

  • The Priest. It moves like a bishop, but it can only capture pawns (doesn't matter which team, pawns from his own team are fair game for the Priest). The US is weird, they call it "the republican".

  • While lead pipes were banned in 1986, millions of lead service lines remain in service across the US to this day...

  • That's great to hear, but it sounds like he's doing okay despite his PhD...

  • "Highlight the danger and promise to destroy it" is absolutely useless. You're letting the narrative be dictated by the other side, you're jumping head first into a mud pool to fight a hog and not only do you expect to win, you think you won't even get dirty.

Mamdani is winning because, thankfully, he's much smarter than that. He's throwing punches against stuff that people hate and personally affects them.

  • The left just doesn't know how to react, and they're not learning.

"That's racist, that's islamophobic, you can't say that!!11!", while absolutely true, is the wrong response.

They are baiting for this response, so that they can whip up their audience with the usual rhetoric of "calling it like it is, being cancelled, snowflakes" blablabla.

The correct response is "CUOMO'S DESPERATE". "He's getting destroyed so he's grasping at straws!", etc.

Don't stoop down to fight a pig in the mud, you're gonna lose.

  • Aww. It's such a quirky and funny thought, imagine eating the rubble as an intimidation attempt, like, the guy just missed but is trying to turn it into a "that was intentional, I wanted you to know what I'm going to do to your BRAIN after I cave in your skull!"

This is the kind of stuff that makes a game memorable IMO. As a DM, even if you don't want to allow it for some reason, just go along with it. Fake a roll and have the opponent yell back "Bahahah I haven't even hit you yet and you're already getting ready to start shitting bricks?!"
