  • Last good new (to me) music I found was by going to music festivals and by YouTube randomly recommending something to me I had never heard of before.

  • More generally speaking: Of course support for people calling themselves victims is important. If they got victimized the reason is obvious. If they are only claiming to be victimized there is probably still something wrong and they likely need support regardless. Innocent until proven guilty can very much go hand in hand with supporting the (presumed) victims.

In this particular case though I’m suspecting the best support might be some witness protection program combined with mental health support. I’m personally of the opinion that these women continue to be in danger from their abusers.

  • Saw the headline, saw the picture. Thought “well, he sure looks like the shoe would fit…” felt a bit guilty. Came to look at the comments. Lol.

  • Innocent until proven guilty (I say that as a woman AND a survivor of SA).

Then again he was proven guilty in other cases. Seeing as those weren’t enough to remove him from power permanently I am not sure what this would do. If I had to bet on if he assaulted minors I’d go for heck yes. I’d bet nearly everything I have on that. So I’d be a pretty bad jury member of this case ;) anyway: the more evidence there is, the harder it is to ignore. Victim statements are pretty good evidence, but more is better.

  • Lol, I’m not from the US. Just following US politics closely and doing what I can from a distance.

But yeah, US „left“ is more right than most country’s “right“. But nearly all of Europe is going through a political right-shift too, so who knows how long that’ll last.

  • Oh, good. My first instinct was that they’d use that plastic fake leather stuff. I really dislike fake leather. It’s not very durable and really difficult to mend when damaged. And it’s so very sticky in summer. Denim sounds like an amazing option though.

  • Depends. Not every boycott is equally easy to pull off. Apparently the CEO of Nestle doesn’t believe in the basic human right of clean water. Makes me want to boycott them but… where do you even start. That’s about 1/3 of our supermarkets stocks. Also Amazon has the market cornered in a lot of ways / places. I’ve been able to not order but I know people who have 0 viable alternatives for things they need.

Then again if it’s something like people picking Starbucks over the local coffee shop next to it while preaching moral superiority… yeah, then I’ll judge.

  • Yep, I can’t stress enough how much I want every single one of the people investigated. And if they participated I want them to be punished. Heck, if it turned out that someone I currently admire and support did something horrible I’d want to know even more so I can stop supporting people like that.

  • I expect a bunch of people and rich donateurs from both sides of the isle. This is a rich pedophiles (and their friends) vs everyone else type of deal and not a left vs right thing.

  • I put most of those types of “wants” on a timer. As in I put the link on a wishlist. If a week or two later I still actively want it and think about it and it’s within my fun money budget then I get it. More often than not I have the impulse just in the moment and forget about it again 1-2 days later.

  • At the very least the person the finger in the stock image belongs to

  • Agreed. I wouldn’t want any of them killed. I’d be really entertained by a max-income type of idea where they have to make it without all of the luxuries they are used to. And especially for the people who never had to work (besides bossing others around) it would be so fun to see them in some average job, or even walking into a supermarket finding out what food costs.

  • Genuinely impressed that you’ve kept up with it this long.

  • Cat.

  • Gorgeous colours in this picture. Looks epic and the cat seems way too floofy for its own good.

We also have a cat who needs to stick out at least one paw to be a able to sleep. He prefers to stick at least one claw into something soft while doing that too. One of our nicknames for him is “weird little guy” and he lives up to it on a daily basis.

  • The machines probably yes. The little electric motors will probably need replacing eventually though.

  • They aren’t even my oldest machines. Just the oldest ones that use electricity

  • I have an electric singer sewing machine from 1964 and another one from around 1950. Amazing how well they work.

  • I left Reddit for the rightwing site-wide moderation policy changes. Well, technically I still have an active account, I just don’t bother using it. No point if nearly half my comments and posts get shadowbanned anyway.

  • Millennial here. I don’t miss being young at all. Sure my body is aging, but it doesn’t make up for how much better I’m doing mentally and emotionally. Also I’m grateful every day that I’m personally sort of financially ok, unlike a lot of our generation and the ones after. Helps being childfree though, because having children would be extremely expensive.
