I don't have an answer, just showing that the wording of the national guard's oath, being slightly different from the rest of the military, makes this a little more complicated than it should be
Edit: Not so fun fact, the act let's Canada do the same thing. Problem is that the USA has way more airports to man... But they're planning on doing the same for us as well. So it's not like Canada is any better than the USA.
Nonsense, I've been told many a time that the pre-facism is fine and doesn't need to be discussed or mentioned if it's Maple flavored, or any other flavor pertaining to whatever European nation is doing similar things.
Below is specifically the oath of office for national guard, which includes the lines I've put in bold...
I, (First, Middle, Last Name)
do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States
and the Constitution of the State (Commonwealth, District, Territory) of
against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same;
that I will obey the orders of the President of the United States and the Governor of the State (Commonwealth, District, Territory) of ,
that I make this obligation freely,
without any mental reservations or purpose of evasion, and that I will well and faithfully discharge the
duties of the Office of (Grade) in the Army/Air National Guard of the State
(Commonwealth, District, Territory) of upon which I am about to enter,
so help me God.
Edit: I'm not defending the national guard soldiers, but they DO answer directly to the president as per their oath
What about a Westralian?
