  • I left about a decade ago. Best decision of my life.

  • Not since the aughts for me. Way to hit with the nostalgia

  • The analogy is brilliant.

But they key players aren't in it for the ride. The bumps, pedestrians, etc. is all just to get the people in the back to get loud. While the van is stopped, the driver and navigators will be yelling in their megaphone how the van stopped because of you, but also the past driver broke it. They'll continue mapping their off-road course and devising how to replace the locks so the driver can't be replaced, and promising to pay people outside the van later to go shoot the pedestrians for now instead.

Meanwhile, it's just getting hotter and the handful of people who were tossing water bottles out the window and other aid to help the pedestrians have also come to a standstill.

MAYBE some of the idiots in the van actually start demanding it move again, but more likely they'll be yelling at you for some reason

  • Another school day tomorrow. Did you know that in the city of Portland, there aren't school buses for high schoolers because they just take the city bus for free. Just a snippet.

Trump hates free places with free thought. He hates freedom. I think Republicans get angry when people aren't fighting like dogs to prove their masculinity and subduing their women

  • They need to start saying that more often

  • Point is they used to be, which is more likely why you saw less.

Against dress codes, especially for public workers

  • National guard isn't there yet. So far protestors have been just taking turns watching and heckling when cars come and go.

  • "Weren't you trying to raid a pizza shop a few years back to protect the children?"

  • You know why

  • I'd also like to share that, just like last time, you may see images of smoke, graffiti, and darkness. But this facility is in a nice area next door to a preschool surrounded by mostly new build apartments and condos. Most of the residents work at the state's largest hospital (and commute via the coolest mode of transportation possible).

And, just like last time, all of the graffiti and damage will be solely to the federal building while the rest of the area remains unchanged. By day, everyone goes about their lives. Except for the preschool which has not remained consistently open due to overnight lingering gas from ICE that has penetrated into their classrooms.

  • I dunno, I think sometimes we're just giving people too much credit.

  • Tradwife isn't typical Lemmy user.

If you spent all of her life letting the man make the decisions, don't be surprised when daughter grows up the same. Maybe getting her far away from you both is a good idea. Maybe she can figure it out.

Meanwhile, maybe she can help: Britt Marie Hermes
