I'm betting (hoping?) this was done with a bit of tongue in cheek, especially since there's a nice, close up picture of the list and it uses up significant board real estate.
Humbling kids with some self awareness is great, especially in middle school. Self reflection and metacognition (why do we do what we do?) are super important tools for kids and leads to more empathy and better conflict resolution.
If this is just a teacher being a crotchety conservative, then yeah, you're right. But I'm willing to bet the kids even helped make the list and had a good time doing it.
Same happened where I am. They did this to some streets on the summer time, and changed an entire lane into an extra wide bike lane. They were so popular, they were kept year round.
The transit issue sounds bad, but the next phase is people demanding more weekend transit, then it will improve, too!
I can't separate artist and art. I feel guilty and angry. But I also don't want to. Money to them is money to their deeds. Paying for anything Harry Potter is paying for anti-trans movements. Paying anything Gaiman goes to the "fix your image" firm he has hired. Then I start thinking that firm is probably out there with messaging convincing people to separate art from the artist.
Nah, government wasn't scammed. They got to rant, rave, and photo op. They made it a big deal, hyped their base, and got reelected. Their base already thinks the border wall is built. Or that it's Bidens fault that it isn't.
Some of those politicians may have made solid connections for their cozy retirement on some executive board
The gaming magazines were fun and all, but your posts take me days to get through because you really sell me on wanting to deep dive into everything, and you even provide links to exacerbate the situation!
Very nice work. These posts are genuinely my favorite thing I look forward to on Lemmy.
I finally started death stranding! I got goosebumps the first time I was out on a mission and the camera backed away letting you just experience the scenery and music. And then so scary when, you know, it's scary. Great at setting the mood. It's beautiful
Republicans only care about themselves. So they care about THEIR dog, THEIR family, etc. anything or anyone else is "others" that can burn for all they care. You see it when some of them suddenly support homosexuality when their kid is gay and "oh, so it's actually NOT a choice!" But they're also more likely to disown their kid or shoot their dog if it doesn't meet their expectation or fit in their world view.
I know, Smart Fix updated their sign!
