    The only people who are hurt by a population decline is the 1% whose income isn't from working but from how many people they have working for them.

    That is a false idea not supported by theory or history. It costs more to raise a child than care for elderly. When the child is grown it consumes more resources unlike the elderly who free up resources upon death.

    The historical periods following large population declines were always the most prosperous. For example the Black Pague and more recently WW2.

  • They are large and heavy. They are only useful for their virtually infinite life. If the military needed it for a few of their bases, they'd contract it out, a few hundred would be built and that's it.

    For example a few thousand ISDN adapters were built for the government military. But it lacked corporate support because the Telcos didn't want it cutting into their profits. So ISDN barely existed for consumers. Consumers suffered with 56k modems for 5-10 years until broadband- which telcos sold for more than a phone line, were immune from all the competition requirements of regular phone lines, plus got TV programming profit.

  • NIckel Iron is fantastic without any revolutionary improvements. Batteries made 100 years ago still work today. They are large and heavy so are only of use for home power.

    The big "down side" which is the reason it isn't commercially developed at large scale is that they last forever. No investors are going to give billions to a business that can't generate revenue forever with a product that needs replacing every 3 years.

  • I knew a professor from Austria who was 15 near the end of the war. His school gave the class a choice of enlistments: Army, Navy (u boat), or airforce.   • The US isn't a European parliament. Republicans have the majority in the House, Senate, and Supreme Court.

    By what mechanism does a minority party put Bondi behind bars when they have no power?

    I might as well say, why haven't you arrested Bondi? You have as much power. AOC isn't a general with an army behind her to enforce the law.

    The only power they have is to stop some bills from passing through filibuster. That's it. Stopping a bill means stopping money to everyone, not just the part of the bill that they are against.

    Americans gave total control of the entire government to Republicans. Stop blaming the victim for not fighting back hard enough.
