  • It’s online, but it’s still a community. It’s cool to see something you wrote a few weeks ago went down nicely with people you interact with.

The same as having a conversation with the lady at our local post office can end with some laughs or something like that.

  • Openbox was great. I learned Linux using fluxbox, and moved over to openbox down the track because it was familiar. I stayed with it until about 2015 I think.

Labwc could be a similar wayland experience (although it’s not their mission statement), but I haven’t been able to try it yet.

  • On lemmy, yes, every few months I have a quick scroll in my post history.

Just to be like “haha, I remember that conversation” or something.

Also, as I scroll through I’m like “hey, people liked this” because at the time you just say something and move on. But maybe later you can see people were into it.

  • Friday the 13th you go around camp Crystal lake, trying to find children in cabins before Jason gets them. Occasionally you have to fight him as in the picture, or on a 2d plane if you run into him outside the cabins.

Elm Street you run around the neighbourhood going into different houses, I think the goal is trying to find pieces of Freddy so you can destroy him, but I’ve not played it as much so can’t really remember very well.

  • Good call. I’ve had to use Windows on work computers for the last 15 years, and I think it’s insane when people talk about it being simple or just working. I feel like I’m being gaslighted by people who maybe don’t know Linux very well so they decided Windows is good actually.

It appears to be all held together with string and ready to crumble randomly.

We keep one Windows laptop in our house so my partner can use some proprietary software she needs for work. When something goes wrong we just reimage it with the HP support tool because otherwise trying to fix it is like pulling your own teeth out.

  • Dropping the name of the show early in the conversation works better.

This show is readily available in torrents, where the community has curated from the highest quality sources available.

  • Mega Drive 1 and 2, they both looked awesome

  • What kind of projector did you use?

  • Back in 2003, me and my friend took a break from band practice.

He said he had a porn collection so off we went through the woods behind his house. After a while we get to this one tree and there’s a shovel behind it.

We go back to his house, on the other side is a river. He starts digging in the river back until he pulls out a buried plastic bag. And he just looks horrified when he looks in.

All the magazines are rotten and broken apart by water.

I don’t know what he was expecting to happen. Or why he hid the shovel in the woods. The whole time I was so confused.

  • You’ve lost me. Maybe because I’m not American and it wishes differently there.

Why do you want to boycott healthcare?

My partner is a clinical nurse and the local clinic is holding on by the skin of their teeth. Surviving on grant money, and if they go down it’ll be a 30 minute drive to the next town for medical assistance.

  • You wish you could boycott healthcare?

  • Since you mention nord vpn… it’s also annoying that content creators seem to think a vpn I’d something that keeps your passwords safe.

They’re almost definitely shilling something they don’t even know what it does.

  • I think you may be misunderstanding how statistics works.

  • I wasn’t a PlayStation guy. I quit consoles when the Mega Drive went end of life and I didn’t like what Sony or Nintendo were bringing to the party. But I have played some PS1 and there are a few I always like to put into my retro systems.

    Symphony of the Night

    Tony Hawk 2

    Disney’s Hercules

    Blood Omen

    Hot Pursuit

    Wipeout 2097

  • I saw Against Me in 2004.

    ‘nuff said.

  • Ah, the ancient ritual persists.

  • Ethan ‘Prepare Raw Meat on This And Then Just Rinse It With Water And Put It Back In The Cupboard’ Chlebowski

  • If you’re having trouble with fstab, there is a gui tool called Gnome Disks. That can make it simpler to get disk mounting right if you’re unsure.

  • It’s maybe not so bad, but I spent ridiculous hours in POD, playing every track and in reverse, and with every car, and split screen multiplayer.

I’ve never been able to get it to work with dgVoodoo, so the 3dfx crispness isn’t there. And I think it’s limited to 800x600 (but I remember it being somewhat prone to crashes above 640x480, this was about 10 years ago though). I also had a lot of audio popping which I couldn’t figure out what was wrong.

It was such a great looking game to show off the Glide graphics on a 15” svga monitor, but for me it didn’t scale well on a 24 - 27” hi res screen.
